A 16-year-old son who was accused of firing a gun at a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl march on February 2 will not be charged as an adult, according to a Jackson County prosecutor on Wednesday.

The boy’s attorney and the Jackson County Juvenile Officer, who had tried to have his case transferred from the family court, where juvenile cases are prosecuted, were the defendants ‘ witnesses, and the decision was made.

According to the Office of the Juvenile Officer,” Phillips” determined that the adolescent was a legitimate subject to be handled under the Missouri juvenile justice system after hearing the evidence that the juvenile’s prosecutors presented to the Jackson County Juvenile Officer regarding certification.”

The adolescent will continue to be heard in the Jackson County Family Court because the court did not grant the juvenile’s request to go on prosecution as an adult.

The boy was charged with resisting arrest and immoral use of a weapon, which he was referred to in court as throughout the certification process by his letters A. M. Three children were charged following the shooting, including him.

    A. M. was released from obtained confinement on house arrest with electric checking, as well as requirements for household therapy, maintaining his medication and some other extra conditions of release, A. M.’s attorney, Yashwanth Manjunath told The Kansas City Star.

A judge must take into account a number of factors when deciding whether to refer a juvenile situation to public jurisdiction court, including the child’s age and background, as well as the seriousness of the alleged offence, whether it involved viciousness and violence, or whether it was a part of a pattern of crimes.

Testimony in A. M.’s documentation hearing&nbsp, played out over the course of two weeks in April and May. Phillips was given expert evaluations of the child, his household, and law enforcement.

According to authorities, an argument between two groups allegedly caused the shooting at the conclusion of the big celebratory gathering. One girl, identified as&nbsp, native DJ and television host Lisa Lopez- Galvan, 43, was killed and dozens of others were left with injuries, including many children.

After Lyndell Mays, one of three men later charged with murder in connection with the march shooting, A. M. fired just in reply, Manjunath said during closing arguments in May. “very clearly” was not the attacker in the event.

” A. M. is a kid who made a mistake on one day and needs some guidance” ,&nbsp, he said then.

The Jackson County Juvenile Officer’s attorney, Monica Penrose, stated in her closing argument that the boy’s choice to carry a gun he fired was an “adult choice” and that A. M. had been a key factor in the altercation that led to the shooting.

The boy ran as the gunfire erupted, removed himself from danger and then turned and fired “indiscriminately” at Mays, who was on the ground and no longer a threat, Penrose said.

” This was not an act of self- defense”, she said then.

Beginning on July 25, a certification hearing for another juvenile who has been charged with the shooting&nbsp is scheduled. A third teen was detained on gun-related charges that were not admissible to an adult’s trial.
