In a statement to Nation ‘s , Restaurant News, the company cited” current market conditions” in closing “underperforming” stores.
The closures come at a time when national restaurant chains are under increased pressure, partly as a result of fresher competition and partly because of customers ‘ concerns about prices, which have even affected fast-food drive-throughs.
Hooters ‘ second place cafe opened in 1989 in downtown , Dallas. It featured” cheerleader-style” women servers dressed in the name” Hooters Girls,” which the business called a “beach” theme.
The eateries quickly gained public attention for the then-shocking short outfits, as well as for the risky and cruel themes, jokes, and banners.
Before the southwest , Arlington , place opened in 2002, a group class, Decency for , Arlington, gathered 1, 300 names in opposition.
Tarrant County , Judge , Tom Vandergriff , finally rejected the wine permit application, saying the cafe was very close to local schools and churches.
Up until a state administrative judge overturned the offer in 2007, the restaurant served gratis alcohol. Additionally, the business consented to get rid of some symptoms and goods.
The downtown , Fort Worth , area also faced legitimate criticism when it opened in 2016.  , Sundance Square , officers and city people said it was too close to the Sundance West rooms.
Hooters ‘ popularity quickly spawned a number of imitation restaurants with scantily clad machines and facile names or designs.
The ring receives poor reviews from customers of the social press site , Yelp.com. The highest- rated area in , Tarrant County , is the north , Arlington , cafe, scoring 3.0 out of a conceivable 5.
