A few years ago, U. S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy , used , his position to assist the Biden administration’s repression work during the Covid crisis, contending that the authorities had a duty to source out “misinformation”.
Then, Murthy wants to do the same item to the Second Amendment, declaring gun crime a “public wellness issue”. The doctor general , wants , to get gun rights “out of the realm of politics and put it into the realm of public health”. Luckily, the Constitution now has jurisdiction over the animal’s right to possess a firearm.
But setting aside the fact that Murthy’s target is illegal, the notion of his statement is also very misleading. For instance, like most anti- gun campaigners, Murthy dishonestly conflates suicides ( a mental health issue ) with homicides ( a crime problem ) to make striking assertions about firearms. Murthy also throws in occurrences where weapons are used in , personal- defense , as a “harm” plaguing the world’s wellness.
But that’s just the start.
How this has affected our children is mainly destructive. More than car mishaps or drug addictions, firearm violence is now the leading cause of death among children and adolescents. 3/10

This false data, which is also the basis for Murthy’s report, is repeated by almost every media outlet and left-wing politician in the nation.
The problem is that every” research” used to boost his claim counts 18- and 19- season- olds as adolescents — including criminals — and sometimes , up to 25- yr- olds. Americans under 18 ca n’t purchase guns legally. When an 18- or 19- year- ancient gets his hands on a firearm improperly, he faces older criminal charges. And when you take 18- and 19- season- older individuals out of these studies, the number of weapon- related deaths among kids plunges. According to the CDC, the leading killers of children between the ages of 1 and 14 are motorized accidents, strangulation, and drowning. Half as some children under 12 , died , in vehicles than from weapons.
It is important to keep in mind that comparatively few babies pass away naturally. And if these experiments were started at birth rather than at the age of one year old, hereditary defects and accidents would be the primary cause of child death. Assume a one-year-old is just as likely a child as a 19-year-old who has fraudulently purchased a gun.
A shocking 54 % of adults say they or a family member have been physically threatened with or hurt by a gun, lost a family member, or shot a weapon in self-defense. 2/10

This argument is absurd. Additionally, adding some self-reported polling data to slick graphs does n’t magically make it any more scientific.
As of 2020, there were 258 million adults in the United States. Therefore, it’s unlikely that 139 million people have personally experienced gun crime or know of any close family members who have, unless these people are talking about witnessing weapon assault on television. Then suddenly,  , the Kaiser research  , used by Murthy puts no restrictions on family , — so they might as well be talking about a minute friend’s wife’s son.
When I took a deeper dive into the Kaiser poll ( of 1, 271 people ), I also noticed that 38 percent of those respondents contend that they have  , personally , been involved in or witnessed an incident with a gun. That means there are tens of millions of Americans walking around right now who have witnessed a cannon being drawn in frustration or self-defense. Seems , highly , improbable.
Gun violence can cause higher stress levels, mental health issues, and a threat to the well-being of whole communities. Almost 6 in 10 adults are concerned about a loved one being the victim of gun crime. 4/10

Six in ten, huh? I would respond, “yes,” if one inquired whether I was concerned about a loved one suffering from firearm violence. Murders happen. Every instance of cannon crime is tragic, too. So I’m surprised it’s never 10 in 10. When it comes to loved people, we tend to inspire worries about anything. Some logical, some no.
However, a pollster’s questioning a person about whether they are concerned about gun crime differs a lot from asking him what he worries most. Because a extended- term , Gallup poll , finds that identity theft, auto theft, burglary ( when not at home ), and hate crimes many appear as problems related to personal safety fear before “being murdered” — which predates the invention of the firearm ( though I’m not certain if Murthy knows that ).
This is probably because there are still very few chances of a law-abiding person being shot in the United States. The polls used by Murthy, including one from the leftist smear group Southern Poverty Law Center, are all designed to mislead people. Experts who make a good-faith effort to solve problems like a mental health crisis or a criminal justice crisis are not relying on false” studies” to solve problems.
When Murthy concludes his thread by claiming that our “failure to address” gun violence “is a moral crisis,” Murthy leaves the game. ( I thought it was a health crisis? ) Of course, the way he wants to address it, no doubt, aligns with the Democrats ‘ long- standing policy goals of restricting Second Amendment rights. Which is the entire justification for this false PR campaign.
