The first virtual- real ( Mr ) abdominal surgery was properly carried out on March 11, 2024, in Santiago, Chile, by Dr. Alberto Rodriquez- Navarro.

Rodriquez- Navarro is also the CEO of Levita Magnetics, a health products production business. Levita Magnetics was the catalyst for Levita Magnetics ‘ development of the system that allows less invasive surgeries without compromising the medical perspective.

In a media release for Levita Magnetics, Rodriquez- Navarro explained his drive to create the structure, stating,” As a low invasive doctor myself, I experienced personally all the limitations for performing ideal surgeries. As I was n’t get the medical system of my dreams, I decided to gather a team and create it, leading to the development of the first- of- its- kind, game- changing MARS system”.

Levita’s MARS program, which combines a doctor- controlled arm with AR viewing, promises to lower bleeding, individual downtime, and medical attendee presence. Rodriquez- Navarro connected MARS to the Meta Quest 3 helmet, but, MARS is designed to be appropriate with many headsets, provided they are newer models with similar technologies.

Rodriquez- Navarro thinks that this procedure is the first step in a revolutionary process that will later be applied to all procedures. Levita continues to push the frontiers of scientific advancement in the working space, using our Martian system and the first virtual reality abdominal surgery always.

By combining our MARS system with other AR technologies, Rodriquez- Navarro said,” we can empower surgeons to perform more efficient procedures while improving visualization and ergonomic function.”

The MARS system, based on the same principles as Levita’s Magnetic Surgical System, gained FDA clearance in late August of 2023. MARS is the only known system that was created for use in abdominal surgery and incorporates minimally invasive surgery with magnets at this time.

The surgical industry may be transformed by “MARS by Levita” and have the potential to forever alter medical innovation. Levita Chairperson Maria Sainz stated in a press release regarding FDA clearance that “our pioneering MARS platform provides patients and surgeons with a transformative tool that will usher in a fundamental shift in surgery for years to come.”

Sainz added,” Levita’s system can aid in surgeon proficiency and efficiency, and can reduce the need for assistive personnel, signaling a major achievement not only for Levita but for surgical care”.
