
A huge army of handguns stolen from a , New Mexico , gun store was taken by a pair of strong young burglars, one of whom is simply 12, police say.
The split- in happened at about , 4 a. m. Sunday, June 23, at Miller Guns and Ammo in , Las Cruces, the police office said in a , June 24 , information transfer.  , The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms , joined , Las Cruces , officers in the research.
According to researchers,  , two kids, age 12 and 15, pulled up outside the cannon factory in a , Kia Forte, which police later discovered had been stolen from a nearby home.
After forcing their way inside the shop, they escaped with 30 rifles and pistols, plus weapons and equipment, police said. All told, more than$ 30, 000 in ammunition was taken, police said.
According to authorities, days later, investigators discovered the accused criminals while responding to a “report of a subject with a gun.”
” Upon introduction, officers located two juveniles — a 12- yr- older boy and a 15- year- ancient boy— and recovered two of the firearms that were reported stolen from the gun shop”, the release said.
The 15- time- old’s house was searched and 14 more stolen weapons were found, authorities said.
More handguns and rifles that were reported stolen have been discovered by investigators, according to authorities.
” Both juveniles have been charged with aggravated burglary, breaking and entering, and larceny of more than$ 20, 000″, police said, adding that the older boy is facing an additional charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.
Due to their age, neither of the boys ‘ families are being made publicly available.
” Officers and , ATF , are continuing to investigate this event. People with information on this situation, or details on the whereabouts of any of the excellent weapon and equipment, is asked to immediately contact police at ( 575 ) 526- 0795″.
