On Wednesday, Bolivia’s President Luis Arce took to X to show his priority over the “irregular participation” of some military products. The former leader of the country made the announcement amid complaints that a high-ranking basic was planning a coup attempt.
Videos of heavily armed men and armoured vehicles gathered in the Plaza Murillo, which is located in the heart of the capital city, were flooding social media platforms with them. The condition has escalated conflicts in the Himalayan country, with the original President, Evo Morales, calling for a global participation of his followers to support democracy.
Morales has officially distanced himself from the current leader despite originating in the same socialist movements as Arce. In a separate article on X, he particularly identified General Juan Jose Zuniga as the architect behind the reported coup plot. Morales urged his supporters to organize a basic work stoppage and stop streets as a form of opposition. He emphasized,” we will not let the military forces to offend politics and goad citizens”.
