Mad scientist Dr. Pretorius toasts Baron Frankenstein in” The Bride of Frankenstein” with the words,” To a new world of gods and monsters”! In the realm of meal, that world is coming true. We eat only lab-grown meat, eggless hamburgers, and yet vegetable-based ice cream. And we are now moving on to the next stage.
Anonymous Twitter user and author Raw Egg Nationalist ( REN ) claims in a piece published in” The American Mind” that startup company Moolec has created what it refers to as “piggy sooy.” This is not, however, a riff on a special love ballad from the 1950s. A grain and animal lab chimera is” Piggy Sooy.”
This is not just a “what if” study confined to a lab. Moolec fully intends to sell its “piggy sooy” to general ( human ) consumers. The USDA has previously approved it. The invention has been issued. And that is n’t all. As REN says:
There will be no attempt to separate the pig-protein part from the rest of the grain in Moolec’s company model, which will sell the seeds straight away. They also want to permit their product to other businesses for cultivation, which they can do because the product has a patent.
In other words, there may appear a time in the future when the typical grain is no longer available, even “piggy sooy”. You may eat the swine- plant, and you will be glad!
And this is not the ending of Moolec’s work in the house of Frankenstein. Using what they call “molecular farming,” REN claims,” to turn a variety of crops and yet microorganisms like yeasts into small bioreactors” is their main goal. Moolec now plans to create a number of other materials, including vegetation and yeasts that produce ruminant proteins like chymosin and myoglobin.
Gargoyles are to be replaced by more than just soybeans, but all the fundamental elements of the simple food groups. At least, that will be the case for us plebes. Like many mansions, private jet, and yachts, genuine food will be available for those of the internal party.
Actually, this , so- called technology is all being done to” keep the world”. The real explanation is power and wealth. As REN says, if these “foods” are patented, then those organizations can make bigger gains via registration and whatever other means their lawyers may create. And if the proverb “you are what you eat” is any real, then the tray master will use an iron rod to rule us.
The results of that iron rod wo n’t be good. According to Confucius, we are now aware that the consumption of genetically modified foods, such as corn, has increased human obesity. What negative consequences may “piggy sooy” and its contemporaries have? Cancer? Heart disorder? Body clots? Fertility? There’s no way of telling. Do any of us believe Moolec and its consorts do tell us something, if there were?
Which leaves us with the$ 64 question: What do we do? However, this is where REN’s bit falters. He offers a brief admonition toward the close to “break away from the commercial food program before it’s too late, and returning to local production of the food our predecessors thrived on,” but the “how” is unstated.
The simplest way to start supporting the farmers ‘ markets and regional meat hubs ( cattle farms, etc. ) is to start supporting them. instead of putting all of our purchasing strength into Target and Wal-Mart. With the rising curiosity in non- GMO products, meat that has n’t been stuffed with drugs, and healthy life in general, this will likely not be too difficult. In this case, the computer can be a valuable spirits. However, in my opinion, the true goal is to move up and start actively raising our own meals.
If you live in a remote place, you’re in luck. You do n’t have to start as the neighborhood land baron. You have enough land to grow your personal foods, whether you have 10 acres, five acres, or only a third hectares. But what if your home is located in a town? What if you live in an room? Urban agriculture comes into play in this context. From house building roofs to staircases, herbs and vegetables can be grown anywhere. It is even possible in some urban areas to keep beehives, meaning honey ( a superfood ) can be added to the menu. There’s no place breaking free of Soylent Pink if we accidentally plant” cattle carrots” in our ledge vases, but getting the right seeds is also important. Places like Eden Brothers, the Living Seed Company, and Up to the Roots give healthy, non- Biotech seeds. Once, in this case, the internet can be a valuable resource.
What about meat and eggs? If you live in a town, cows will probably be over, but smaller animals might be a chance. For instance, the Missouri House of Representatives passed a bill last month that would allow residents to own neighborhood chickens without regard for HOA regulations. If a homeowner’s neighborhood is at least two hundredths of an hectare, or 8, 712 square foot, then the Missouri expenses allows him to keep up to six hens. In the United States, 23 000 square feet is the typical lawn size. Picture what we could do if only half the states followed Missouri and only a third of the property’s users owned a few animals.
No one person may possibly have the time or resources to make all their household requires, which is critical. So, local associations will need to be established to promote a social standard of personal- sufficiency. Your aunt grows corn and wheat on his half-acre on the outskirts of town while another family may grow peppers and cucumbers, another family may grow peas and green beans, and another may retain a hive of bees that pollinate the family next door.
All of this is not to say that everything will go smoothly. It wo n’t be. Farming on any scale is a roll of the dice, too much rain, lack of rain, frost, insects, fungi, and mites can all be fatal. We will also need to be more prepared to spend more time preparing for the latest pests and beef purchases from the small, family-owned local farm 20 miles away as well as spend more time preparing for the latest crop and pest control than we do on Facebook and Netflix.
However, the real question is n’t whether you have the time or money, it’s how far you’re prepared to go to ensure the health of yourself and your family. Our ancestors once cultivated the continent. We must do it again.
