SAN DIEGO ( Border Report )— Microbreweries, referred to as custom beer makers in Tijuana, are reporting a 40 percent reduction in company since 2023.

” It’s been a challenge since the COVID- 19 incident began”, said Ximena López, chairman of the beer market in Tijuana. Producers from Tijuana continue to win awards both domestically and internationally despite all the challenges.

With two manufacturers shutting down since 2023 and others on the verge of bankruptcy, López claims it’s been a difficult bend for beer producers in the area.

Beers from both sides of the border will be featured at the Tijuana International Beer Festival.

She attributes the uncertainty experienced by many potential visitors who are anxious to travel to Tijuana because of its risky status.

We frequently find ourselves concerned about security, so every day we make an effort to make sure our clients feel safe so they return and recommend us,” López said. We have to find a way to get our companions from San Diego back because they have largely stopped coming.

For the first time in over 20 years, Bud Light is no longer the top-selling liquor in the US.

Without the caliber of the beverage produced in Tijuana, they would have all shut down operations a long time ago, according to López.

” Thanks to the value of the local solution, we’ve been able to keep most breweries available”.

She anticipates that the summers will bring customers back to craft beer bars, particularly those who come from the north of the border.

” The june for us is the best time, the warm wind makes people want to drink more beer, after the pandemic years, I believe we’re due for a good time”.

Craft beer lovers in San Diego do n’t have to travel far. The region is home to over 150 beers, and San Diego has even been called the” Craft Beer Capital of America.

In 2022, 15 San Diego- place beers won prizes at the&nbsp, Great American Beer Festival.
