SAN DIEGO ( Border Report ) — Merchants along Tijuana’s Avenida Revolución and surrounding streets are predicting a rise in sales and visitors for this weekend’s Pride festivities.
They are expecting a 50 to 60 percent increase in profits during the LGBTQ festival and other scheduled activities, said Julián Palombo Saucedo, chairman of Tijuana’s National Chamber of Commerce for Tourism.
” All our vendors should have an opportunity to grow their business,” said Palombo Saucedo, and it will be an occurrence that is open to the public. ” This will benefit establishments, especially Paulina Rubio’s performance, which should be widely attended”.
The 53- yr- ancient Paulina Rubio is often referred to as the “golden girl”, and the “princess of Latin pop”, having sold more than 20 million songs.
The majority of the activities will take place on Saturday, including the rally and Rubio’s music.
Businesses are expected to make a profit from Pride Weekend, which has been criticized as slowing down 2024 so far because of bad weather and fears of crime.
” We are trying different kinds of activities,” said Palombo Saucedo,” We are trying to get more people to come in.” ” This may help a bunch”.
This weekend, an predicted 60, 000 people are expected to take part in the Pride holidays in Tijuana.
