San Diego ( Border Report )- The health sector in Baja California is requesting more promotion and marketing to show its services after seeing a significant decline in visitors from the north of the border.
Abraham Sánchez Frehem, chairman of Tijuana’s Medical Health Cluster, says the place needs to be seen as a place for medical services and techniques.
” In spite of the closeness, there is a need to market our services to individuals on the other side of the border”, he said. ” We’ve identified physicians and hospitals that need to market the solutions that are available.”
Medical procedures and plastic and bariatric surgeries are about half of the procedures performed in Tijuana.
Another area of concern, according to Sánchez Frehem, is how the medicine Ozempic is being distributed and made accessible in Baja.
The treatment is intended for diabetics who need to gain weight, but it’s being given to others as a weight- lost opportunity, according to Sánchez Frehem.
He claims that as part of a health care, it must be sold to those who have a prescription from a doctor. Due to the risks associated with any medication, you should n’t be able to walk into a pharmacy and purchase something without having a medical evaluation done first.
