Montserrat Caballero, the governor of Tijuana, is suing doctors and others who have been” selling access” to a specific medical lane to expedite the passage of people across the borders.
The street was established years ago as a way to encourage people to travel to Tijuana for dental and medical treatments.
According to Caballero, some doctors and police officers have been offering access to this lane to those who do n’t go to or need medical care south of the border.
” We have doctors who are selling these medical passes, cheating the system, something they should n’t be doing”, Caballero said. ” We are launching an inspection, those caught doing this will reduce their opportunity to provide this service, we’ll keep doing this in the future”.
Additionally, the president claimed that the purchase of illegal passes has increased the length of the particular lane’s patient journey across the border more quickly.
” This is a form of corruption on behalf of doctors, police and other public servants”, she said. We are adding additional detectors or chips to the moves, but I am confident that they will eventually discover different ways to continue this problem.
The mayor informed reporters earlier this week of a case in which one person claimed to have purchased a$ 10 doctor’s gift card.
” This is actually less than what they go for”, she said.
The Economic Development company in Tijuana typically sells the moves to physicians.
Patients who ca n’t wait in line for a long time should receive these passes.
Abraham Sánchez Frehem, chairman of Tijuana’s Medical Cluster, says the process needs to stop as it is hurting genuine physicians and their patients.
” However, the secret purchase of these moves goes on, officials have not been able to stop this”, he said. Anyone who does n’t do this should be disciplined, according to the Economic Development Office, who demands an accounting of where these passes are going.
