The Biden- Harris campaign is trying desperately to spin Joe Biden’s fatal conversation performance, and it has somehow found itself using cherry-picking data that suggests the discussion had no impact on the race before blaming the media for any declines in the polls he might encounter.

” It’s a familiar story: Following Thursday night’s debate, the beltway class is counting Joe Biden out” ,Biden campaign chair Jen , O’Malley Dillon writes. ” The information in the battleground state, while, tells a different story. Our supporters are more upbeat than ever in every measurement that counts, and Donald Trump just made a point of explaining why they fired him four years ago and failed to further his appeal beyond his Do center.
Finally there’s this stone:
Flash surveys from , CNN,  , 538,  , Survey USA,  , Morning Consult, and , Data for Progress , show what we expected: The conversation did not change the horses culture.  , This mirrors what the party’s inside post- conversation polling showed: The president maintained his support among his 2020 voters and voters ‘ opinions were never changed.
The truth is, it can often get a couple of weeks to see what effect, if any, an event will have on open mind. Therefore, instant post- conversation elections are n’t going to tell the full story. Nice try nevertheless. O’Malley Dillon next pointed to the administration’s personal internal voting.
Following the conversation, our inner buttons showed President Biden led Trump on important measures of being political, speaking to the issues that subject, and being charming by more than 20 points. Dials demonstrated that independent voters were offended by Trump’s personal attacks and had strong emotions when he discussed January 6 and Putin’s support for Trump while refusing to lay out his vision for America. Our internal poll revealed the dials: Trump’s performance left independent voters less confident in his views on the importance of the Constitution, the rule of law, and truthfulness.  ,

Well, I guess it’s over then. The Biden campaign’s internal polling says it was a great night for Biden! Well, do n’t we all feel stupid now?

Oh, but this was n’t even the worst part of the memo. Even though O’Malley Dillon claims that Joe Biden’s metrics were all fantastic,” If we do see changes in polling in the coming weeks, it will not be the first time that overblown media narratives have caused temporary declines in the polls,” she said.
President Obama’s first debate performance was the subject of a significant, but temporary decline in his polling in 2012, which was almost entirely offset by fewer Democrats responding to polls the day after the debate as opposed to real changes in support.
It’s true that Mitt Romney and Barack Obama had a terrible first debate in 2012. I can recall watching it and thinking that Mitt Romney had the victory in the end. Obama did, of course, eventually recover with a better debate performance in their subsequent contest. But, here’s the problem: The issue of Joe Biden’s performance was n’t the same as Barack Obama’s. Obama was undoubtedly ill-prepared for the discussion. Joe Biden spent an entire week off from being president, preparing. Unpreparedness for a debate is something that is manageable to recover from. Joe Biden must demonstrate to the entire country that he is not too mentally and physically frail to be president. Good luck.
And the Biden campaign is basically saying that if Biden sees a dip in the polls, it’s not because he bombed the debate, but rather it’s the media’s fault. Can you believe that? Polls have been making it abundantly clear for years that most voters believe Biden is too old and frail to be president, and the debate is just the latest example. The media has been doing everything it can to cover up Biden’s cognitive decline, as recently as last week, the media was pushing the” cheap fakes” line.
