In its latest generation of” Republicans prey”!, America’s morally bankrupt advertising is framing Joe Biden’s use of the national government to interfere in the 2024 vote as the target of “partisan” Democratic problems. But someone who’s bothered to research the issue knows that’s perfect drivel.
NPR’s Hansi Lo Wang covered the dishonest move in an essay titled” Democrats are turning Biden’s voter registration get into a political display place” on Sunday. The item focuses on , Executive Order 14019, a law signed by Biden in March 2021 that ordered hundreds of national agencies to , interfere , in state and local vote administration by using taxpayer dollars to indulge in voter registration and acquire- out- the- vote activities.
Under the purchase, federal sections were required to review” proper plan]s]” explaining how their agencies intended to fulfill Biden’s mandate. The presidency has consistently stymied efforts by excellent government organizations to acquiesce to these plans by slowing down its response to federal court orders and strongly redacting any relevant documents it has made. Agencies were likewise instructed to work with thus- called “nonpartisan next- party organizations” that have been “approved” by the White House to deliver “voter registration services on agency premises”.
Republicans have expressed fears about this” Bidenbucks” get and its purpose for years. But that did n’t stop Wang from dishonestly attempting to make such worries a new, unfounded phenomenon.
” Backed with no significant evidence, GOP lawmakers and state election officials, along with correct- wing activists, have launched a barrage of claims that the Biden administration is using this order to overstep the national government’s role in elections, garner more Democrat voters and register no- U. S. citizens, who cannot lawfully vote in national elections”, Wang wrote.
The House Administration Committee recently sent subpoenas to more than a dozen Biden cabinet secretaries, according to the NPR correspondent, subpoenas that these officials, according to my colleague Matt Kittle reported, did not comply with. Wang also made reference to a pending GOP-backed lawsuit that is attempting to challenge the order’s legality before the US Supreme Court.
Wang appeared to justify the order’s existence by citing supportive comments from so- called election “experts” and the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, which, among other election- related provisions, requires” ]a ] ll departments, agencies, and other entities of the executive branch of the Federal Government]to] … cooperate with the States in carrying out” voter registration through public agencies.
What Wang did not mention, however, is that Congress never appropriated funds for the directives mandated under the” Bidenbucks” order. Additionally, it is impossible to tell how many taxpayer dollars are being diverted toward these seemingly illegal efforts because the Biden administration has refused to disclose specifics about the mandate.

But NPR’s bid to play defense for the White House did n’t stop there.
Wang conveniently forgot to mention how the majority of the so-called “nonpartisan third-party organizations” collaborating with the federal government on voter registration activities are very left-wing when claiming Republicans have” no substantial evidence” to back up their claims that” Bidenbucks” are intended to aid Democrats. According to records found by conservative media outlets and good government organizations, Democratic-affiliated organizations like Demos and the American Civil Liberties Union are actively working with the administration on get-out-the-vote activities.
When examining the numerous ways that various agencies are complying with the order, the White House’s use of taxpayer money to target and register likely- Democratic voters becomes even more obvious.
The Education Department, for example, is allowing colleges to use Federal Work- Study funds — which are  , used , to provide part- time campus jobs to help students with tuition costs — to employ students by government agencies for work such as” supporting broad- based get- out- the- vote activities, voter registration, providing voter assistance at a polling place or through a voter hotline, or serving as a poll worker”. College students are  , more likely , to , support , Democrat candidates over Republican ones, as analyses of the 2022 midterm election results have shown.
Other Democrat- friendly demographics targeted by the administration include Native Americans, felons, immigrants, and federal workers. Officials in the GOP election, including Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, have also expressed concerns that the order might be used to register illegal aliens for the vote.
It’s similar to asking Biden to make it through a speech without saying something incoherent when NPR asks to be honest with its readers about” Bidenbucks.” Like its fellow anti- speech publications, the taxpayer- funded outlet is n’t interested in reporting the truth, but in advancing the Democrat Party narrative.
