A Korean war man from&nbsp, New Jersey &nbsp, who was killed in action 74 years before was given a whole military death Friday at the&nbsp, Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery&nbsp, in&nbsp, Wrightstown.

A big escort of over 200 individuals, including&nbsp, Veterans of Foreign Wars&nbsp, people, traveled from&nbsp, Maxwell Funeral Home&nbsp, in&nbsp, Little Egg Harbor&nbsp, to enter the burial.

    U. S. Army&nbsp, Pfc. &nbsp, Anthony John Lopa, from&nbsp, North Arlington, was killed on&nbsp, Aug. 31, 1950, after being taken prisoner only months into his implementation. He was only 17 years old, and he and five other men were buried in a tomb.

The service on Friday featured the performance of” Taps,” a three-rifle volley, and the presentation of an American flag to his family.

Kelly Domitrowsky, Lopa’s daughter and one of his last remaining body family, was first contacted by the Army Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division at&nbsp, U. S. Army&nbsp, Human Resources Command in&nbsp, Fort Knox, Kentucky, around 25 ages back to provide a DNA test that could be used to get a fit to her brother. She just learned about his body’s identification until last year.

” This has been perhaps the single most wonderful experience of my life”, said Domitrowsky, sharing her love for the “overwhelming” level of support from group people who attended the funeral. ” I can truthfully say that I was able to give this man who gave anything.” By the answer now, nobody forgot him”.

Domitrowsky’s mother, before she passed away, had told her she wished for her son’s legacy to become remembered.

” She said just whatever you do, do n’t forget about him”, said Domitrowsky. Even though I’ve never had the opportunity to meet him, I often carry that with me. I remained assured that this would occur.

Lopa’s bones were returned back to Domitrowsky, along with her husband and daughter, at the&nbsp, Philadelphia International Airport&nbsp, on&nbsp, June 25. Before this, his brain was held in&nbsp, Hawaii&nbsp, after being returned to&nbsp, the United States&nbsp, from the burial site located in&nbsp, South Korea&nbsp, in 2018.
