Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, said Donald Trump’s statements that he had plans to finish the Ukrainian war rapidly were taken seriously.
” I’m not familiar with his probable ideas on how he intends to do this, and that is, of course, the vital problem”, Putin told a media conference Thursday in Astana, Kazakhstan, where he attended a conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. ” But I have no fear that he says this respectfully, and we will help it”.
He made the remarks a moment after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview that Trump” does show us now” what his ideas for ending the war would be if he won the US presidential election in November. Zelenskiy warned that any proposal may prevent violating Ukraine’s autonomy.
Putin confirmed to reporters that he had seen some of the Trump and Biden vote debate next week, but he has not commented on it. Following condemnation of his lackluster performance in the conversation, President Biden is increasingly under pressure to lose his bid for reelection.
Trump has n’t stated how he thinks he can close the third-year war that is currently in progress. In response to a report released this week from Polititico, Polotico claimed that he is thinking about reaching a deal with Russia whereby NATO may agree not to grow more south, including to Ukraine and Georgia, citing two regional security professionals who are close to the former president.
As a problem for peace deals, Putin declared last month that Ukraine had to leave four eastern parts that were previously occupied by Russian troops. Ukraine would also be required to renounce its ability to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in accordance with his terms, which Kyiv and its allies in the US and Europe instantly rejected.
Putin stated in Astana that Russia wo n’t put an end to fighting until Ukraine agrees to take “irreversible” measures, without specifying what those measures would be.
” A stop- fire without reaching for agreements is unattainable”, he said.
Additionally, the Russian president ruled out a chance for talks with the US about geopolitical stability to resume until after the vote. Russia had first “understand the emotions and choices of the future management”, Putin said.
Individually, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said it would be “very difficult to continue preparing Ukraine” without US help.
Even if the US does n’t, did Europeans be able to support Ukraine physically as well? Borell addressed a group of European Council members in Madrid about international relationships. ” It’s truly hard but never impossible. Is there, however, social can? I have my questions”.
