Biden’s White House Staff, Payroll Are Biggest Since Nixon

Although it received very little coverage in both traditional and contemporary media, that should not detract from the importance of yet another data-driven exposé that OpentheBooks. org made feasible.

The non-profit organization with headquarters in Illinois, which I believe is the pinnacle of the accountability and accountability in state movement, looked into the standard data and discovered that more people have worked for President Joe Biden on the White House staff than any other previous administration, including Richard Milhous Nixon, as CEO.

Consider this: Never has a President had so many soldiers working for him since 1973, when Nixon was in the midst of his Watergate spiral into humiliation. That’s more than Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

The figures tell the story. In Fiscal Year 2024, there were 41 more people affiliating the White House, bringing the total to 565. The overall cost of the payment serving Biden is nowadays$ 60.8 million.

Biden is the first White House employee to have 500 or more people as chief professional. Biden employed 560 citizens in 2021, then saw the overall decline to 474 the next year and jump up to 524 in 2023.

This payment was made public shortly before the legislative deadline, which sparked a flurry of inquiries regarding President Biden’s ability to serve. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the support structure around him has grown generally massive and costly”, OpenTheBooks. Adam Andrzejewski, the founder and president of org, stated in a statement released to the general consumer with the information.

The White House has more staff members than it has ever had since the Nixon administration, according to TIME Magazine, who reported that staff was growing” striking rapidity.” At$ 60.8 million, this White House staff is the most expensive since OpenTheBooks .com began tracking the numbers in 2009″, Andrzejewski said.

Compared to his father, Biden has 152 more complete employees compared to Trump at the end of his presidency. Obama and Biden both have 97 more White House employees than Obama did at the same time he was in business.

Additionally, there has been a high turnover rate at The Biden White House, with 225 people leaving since 2023. The most recent turnover rate, which is 43 %, is slightly lower than the previous year’s 46 %, which was also lower.

The number of White House employees is growing, with four more coming this season thanks to First Lady Jill Biden. Mrs. Biden’s full of 24 games that of former First Lady Michelle Obama. Jill Biden’s team, which was made up of former First Lady Melania Trump’s 11 employees, is more than twice as large.

The highest- paid White House staff other than the President and Vice- President Kamala Harris is Associate Counsel Michelle Barrans, who is paid$ 251, 258 ( Level I of the federal government’s Executive Schedule ). Next up is Farah Ahmad, Special Adviser for Economic Development who receives$ 191, 900 ( Level IV ).

Even being paid$ 191, 900 are Michael Baer and William Desmond, both Associate Counsels, as well as Drenan Dudley, Director for Long- word Treatment and Restoration, Senior Policy Adviser Miranda Lynch- Smith, and Andrea O’Neal, Senior Policy Adviser and the specific overseeing the Biden administration’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts through the White House Domestic Policy Council. Additionally, she has served as the first-ever Senior Advisor to the U.S. General Services Administration ( GSA ) Administrator for Equity.

OpenTheBooks. According to a report from e-mail .org, Biden employs 106 Special Assistants whose responsibilities are similar to those of “Czars” under Obama. A total of 52 of these Special Assistants are paid$ 121, 500, while 54 receive$ 139, 500.

Issues like “gun assault prevention” and “gender policy” are among the policy areas that these Unique Assistants preside over. There are also four Unique Assistants, each with tasks related to” weather plan”. None of these leaders are elected, they are purely political appointees.

This latest highlight from OpenTheBooks. nonprofit was partially based on a White House report to Congress that arrived just before the deadline. The “report” is really nothing more than a 12- page lengthy list of people, their names, their status ( i. e. complete, part- time, detailee ), and their compensation figures.

Ironically, this annual review was first mandated in 1995 following the 1994″ Agreement with America” vote that saw Republicans get majorities in both the Senate and House for the first time in 40 years.

The Republican Congress’s decision to open a door to the professional branch’s empire-building was a forerunner of the liberal-dominated transparency and accountability in government movement. &nbsp,

By 2005, when Sen. Tom” Dr. No” Coburn ( R- Okla. ) proposed the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 ( FFATA ), which mandated what became the USASpending. Such traditional populist-focused considering was firmly established on much of the Right.gov site that makes people most federal spending.

The Freedom of Information Act ( FOIA ) reform will give it concrete enforcement and real criminal penalties for its violation, an issue I frequently write about, most recently here. This is the next frontier for the movement for transparency and accountability in government.

*No, I do n’t get paid to say that, and I do it frequently in different forums because I think it’s true. &nbsp, &nbsp,
