An advisor to former President Donald Trump said Trump could announce his vice presidential pick “any time this week” before the start of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next Monday.

“By this time next Monday, we will know who President Trump has selected as his running mate for the 2024 election,” Miller said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. “It could happen any time this week. Could happen literally right up until the first day of the convention.”

Trump’s choice of a vice presidential running mate is a highly-anticipated decision. Currently, it is believed that Sen.Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), and Gov. Doug Burgum (R-N.D.) are the leading candidates for the vice presidential nomination, along with a list of other top political supporters.

According to The Post Millennial, Trump previously indicated that he already has made his decision and that he will announce his choice “right around the convention, maybe a little before.”

Describing Trump’s options for a vice presidential candidate, Miller said, “It’s almost an embarrassment of riches that there are so many good people.” Miller added, “And what President Trump has said is that whoever he does pick needs to be able to step in and do the job on day one.”

Miller claimed that Trump has many “great choices” for a running mate and that there are more names on his list. “President Trump has discussed even more names than that,” Mille said in response to a question regarding specific individuals on Trump’s list.

The Trump adviser also highlighted the ongoing concerns with President Joe Biden’s campaign during his Fox & Friends interview.

“What we don’t know is who President Trump and his running mate will be running against,” Miller stated. “Ultimately, with all the talk this morning about Joe Biden and whether or not he can hang on in the presidential spot.”

Miller said that as a campaign strategist looking ahead to a potential vice presidential debate, “We don’t know if that’s going to be Kamala, or maybe they swap her out for someone who’s even more liberal, more extreme, although that might be tough to do.”
