According to new satellite imagery, Iran is expanding its nuclear weapon arsenal, which two National researchers believe will increase the production of missiles. Three top Iranian leaders have confirmed this assumption.
The Khojir weapon production complex at Modarres in April and the Modarres military base in April were both captured by the corporate satellite company Planet Labs. The pictures show more than 30 new houses at the two locations, both of which are located near Tehran, reported Reuters.
According to Jeffrey Lewis of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, many of the buildings are enclosed by massive soil berms, which are used to store missiles and are designed to stop explosions of highly flammable materials in nearby buildings.
Khojir’s development began in August of last year, while the other one began in October.
This growth came after Iran agreed to provide weapons to Russia for its ongoing war against Ukraine in October 2022. Iran has provided Russia with a large number of effective surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, six sources told Reuters, deepening the defense cooperation between the two US-sanctioned locations.
Iran’s delivery of around 400 weapons includes many from the Fateh-110 community of short-range nuclear weapons, such as the Zolfaghar, three Egyptian options said.
According to the US leaders, Iran also supplied rockets to Yemen’s Houthi rebels and the Syrian Hezbollah, both members of the Iran-backed Axis of Weight against Israel.
Three Iranian authorities confirmed that Modarres and Khojir are expanding to increase conventional ballistic missile output. One official stated,” Why should n’t we”?
A second Egyptian official claimed that some of the new buildings would allow for a doubled in drone production, with Russian-made drones and missiles being sold to Russia, Houthis receiving drones, and Hezbollah receiving missiles.
US concerns about Iran’s development of ballistic missile services.
Any increase in Tehran’s weapon or helicopter production may remain concerning to the United States and Israel, as Iranian drones help maintain Russia’s assault on Russian towns and Iran-backed organizations, including Hezbollah, continue to pose a threat to Israel.
The complexes, Shahid Modarres and Khojir, are overseen by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ( IRGC ) and have long been associated with the development and production of Iran’s short- and medium-range ballistic missiles and rockets for the country’s space program.
Earlier when Iran reportedly was expanding its nuclear programme, the US vowed” to use all means necessary to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran” in a UN Security Council meeting.
Iran is accused of engaging in far-reaching nuclear activities in excess of the restrictions set forth in a 2015 agreement to stop Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, and of failing to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN nuclear watchdog.
