‘Bet on Russia as a reliable partner is not a good bet’: US warns India

In the event of a dispute between the two Asian power, the United States warned India on Thursday that relying on Russia as a “reliable partner is not a good bet.” Moscow had prioritize its connection with Beijing over New Delhi.
In a press conference response to a query about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s subsequent visit to Russia, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan stated:” We’ve made it clear to every country in the world, including India, that betting on Russia as a long-term, reliable partner is not a good guess.”
” Russia is becoming closer to China. In reality, it’s becoming the young companion to China. And in that way, they may always be on the same page with China on any given day of the week. And Prime Minister Modi, of course, has a lot of concerns about the potential for Taiwanese anger against India. Sullivan, who was in India next month for a meeting with his rival Ajit Doval and met with Prime Minister Modi during his visit, said,” Which we have seen over subsequent years.”
The US national acknowledged that countries like India have a long-standing relationship with Russia, which is unlikely to greatly alter in a short time. He continued, however, that the United States is investing in democratic allies and partners around the world, including India, and that this strategy may have long-term effects.
Sullivan’s remarks came a moment after staff from the Pentagon, the White House, and the state department responded to inquiries about India’s relationship with Russia and Prime Minister Modi’s trip to Moscow. Prime Minister Modi spent two days in Russia for the 22nd India-Russia annual conference, which the West has carefully followed despite the raging Ukraine issue. In light of the ongoing fight in Ukraine, the West has closely monitored Visit.
Prime Minister Modi told the Russian President that a resolution to the Ukraine conflict cannot be reached on the battlefield and that peace efforts wo n’t succeed in the presence of bombs and bullets during his meeting with Putin on Tuesday.
Despite the ongoing fight in Ukraine, India has continued to defend its” special and privileged corporate relationship” with Russia and maintains that speed.
