A warrior recently went viral after sharing his account of shooting down a huge Kodiak bear while it was charging at him and his searching guide with a 10mm pistol.
Hunter Tyce Erickson reported to OutKick that he was following a maimed bear with his guide when it suddenly charged at them while shooting the bear with a shotgun.
When tracking it, the manual was in front of me, and I was about 10 feet or so behind him. The bear accused him of being in the lead, and he hit the bear with his rifle on the bear’s breasts at first, we believe, before his foot tripped up in the paint on the rocky hillside, according to Erickson. He” shot a third one from his hips while he was on his up.” Being unable to see his back being tangled in the paint when he yelled for help, is when he is still tangled in the paint.
Erickson explained that since his weapon was already out, he immediately ran to the side of his guidebook to fire a shot while avoiding hitting him, but the keep “erupted” in front of him. Highlighting the swift timing and strength of the shooting event, Erickson said,” This is all happening in seconds. I am guessing around 15 to 20 ft. I did n’t walk it off exactly, we were hunting and did n’t really care. Given that the pistol was like a large animal, it was a simple target.

Erickson claimed to have fired three shots from his 10mm handgun after coming into contact with the charging carry. He explained that the hunting guide had told him to quit shooting after the second shot to prevent unintentionally breaking the bird’s bone while he had 15 shells in his weapon. ” The skull is part of the animal you bring home, and he did n’t want it shot on accident with the pistol and broken”, Erickson noted.
A photo of Erickson with the huge Kodiak grizzly was shared on X, previously Online, by Smith &, Wesson Inc.
After watching a YouTube video where people shot the revolver at “gelled carry skulls to recreate a charge,” Erickson claimed to have chosen the 10mm handgun as his sidearm. Before the chase, Erickson practiced with the gun at home after learning that the pistol could reach the gelled keep bones. The 10mm was described as “very pleasant to shoot and correct” by the popular hunter.
