Border Report reports that the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee ordered Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to appear before the council on Friday to provide details of immigrant knowledge he claims was requested more than a year ago.
Republican from Tennessee and U.S. Rep. Mark Green, who serves as committee chairman, stated in a letter to Mayorkas on Friday that” the Committee has made multiple attempts to obtain the requested documents and information without required approach” for more than a year.
He claims that the commission, which is the primary committee overseeing the Department of Homeland Security, has not received all of the necessary information.
Mayorkas is required to appear before the House Committee on Homeland Security at the Capitol on July 19 at lunch.
According to Green, he and two other Republicans who presided over the House Judiciary and Management commissions on May 19, 2023, wrote in a text to Mayorkas asking for” certain documents and information relating to gotaways and illegal aliens on the criminal screen database encountered at the Southwest frontier since January 2021.”
He claims that DHS made a number of barriers and safety justifications that prevented the requested information from being fully disclosed.
Mayorkas requests the lawsuit in a completely undaunted kind:
- A copy of any migrant who has records in the Terrorist Screening Database ( TSDB) and/or the Terrorist Screening Dataset ( TSDS ) at the time of their encounter and who has been encountered by Border Patrol on the Southwest border between legal ports of entry as of January 20, 2021.
- Border Patrol agents encountering each immigrant on the Southwest borders of their own, and all I-213 Record of Deportable/Inadmissible Alien types have records from TSDB or TSDS at the time of their experience.
- Papers and communications regarding the status of confinement for workers who have been contacted with data from the TSDB or TSDS are contained within the Police Integrated Database or ENFORCE Alien Removal Module.
- Knowledge and documentation regarding the current prison of workers who are TSDB or TSDS-registered.
- Knowledge and documentation on the TSDB or TSDS treatment proceedings for refugees who have been harmed by records.
” You are required to produce all responsive files, supplies, or other objects in unredacted form that are in your possession, prison, or power or otherwise available to you, regardless of whether the files are possessed directly by you or your past or present agents, employers, employees, representatives, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, partnerships, and departments acting on your behalf”, according to subpoena instructions sent to Mayorkas.
Border Report contacted DHS to ask if it had fully complied with the request for information, if certainly, if it will do so right away, and whether Mayorkas may make an appearance at the hearing on July 18th.
