There is nothing novel in the assertions that Abraham Lincoln was gay or bisexual in history. The” theory” emerged in the 1970s as a result of the gay awakening, and it has remained unexplored ever since.

Today, a major film purports to “prove” the place using newly discovered letters, documents, and photographs. A criminal circuit horse like Abraham Lincoln would have been forced to share a base with other guests while practicing law, so Abraham Lincoln slept in the same bed with males. He even wrote “passionately” about female friends and acquaintances, which was a popular practice in 1840s America.  ,
The film’s” Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln” fails to establish that Lincoln had sexual relations with just his wife, Mary, who gave birth to four boys with Robert just having one adult child.
The 1840s were a much different era with various values and morals. Female friends had an completely different level of bonding than men do nowadays. In the 1840s, the fear of being perceived as “gay” rarely ever persisted. Men spoke and wrote about men more frequently than their friends do now. It was n’t sexual. Without the gender, the friendship and passion were as strong as male-female ties.
Looking at Lincoln’s steps through the lens of sexual 21st-century America, it’s easy for a director with an objective to “prove” Lincoln’s sexual preference. But this is a scenario of traditional gravity. Reporting on Lincoln’s sleeping agreements with men is proof of everything. Later in his life, sleeping with men was n’t a signal of subject either. Lincoln may have had new attitudes toward his friends, but the movie does n’t have a” smoking gun” where he expresses his desire for sex with any man. If there were, the gay lobby would n’t be able to shut up about it.  ,

According to the show’s promotional version, the movie “focuses on the deep differences between sexual traditions of the 19th century and those we hold now” and “into the history of human sexual mobility.” The movie addresses a significant gap in American history and asks the viewer to consider why we have quite a limited understanding of sexuality.
Directed by Shaun Peterson, the picture explores Lincoln’s strong relationships with brave, dashing men and includes conversations with researchers from Harvard, Columbia, Brown, Wellesley and Rutgers.
According to one expert, Lincoln perhaps slept in the same bed with more people than he did people.
This is absurd. Those Ivy League schools employ just as many imbecile scholars as classrooms with “lesser” careers. Higher education’s current position is terrible for traditional scholarship.  ,
We know this because any “expert” who made the idiotic statement that Lincoln “probably” slept with more men than women does n’t know the history, the social practices in the 19th century, or the sexual morals of the time. Lincoln slept with other people because it was typically necessary rather than because he wanted to. And even when it was n’t necessary, there is zero evidence that Lincoln’s attachment to men had anything to do with sex.

There’s a famous scene in Herman Melville’s” Moby Dick” where Ishmael shares a bed with the harpooner, Queequeg. The young sailor wakes up with Queequeg’s arm around him and thinks, “you had almost thought I had been his wife” . ,
Try as Ishmael might, he could n’t get free of Queequeg’s “bridegroom clasp”, hugging him so “tightly”. Melville writes that the following night Ishmael “waits eagerly for Queequeg’s hug”.
Was Ishmael queer?
As we know, in the eighteenth and eighteenth centuries men ( as well as people ) formed romantic friends, forms of connection that allowed much emotional, if not, physical connection. For instance, the letters and diaries from the Civil War reveal men talking to and about each other with a lot of sweetness and warmth. This was true in earlier decades. It is currently the subject of gay discourse because of the affection that men used to express their feelings to one another during the American Revolution.
Naturally, the notion that Lincoln was a closeted homosexual was irresistible for the social media posters.

” If you can accept a queer Lincoln, you can accept queer people overall”.
Yep, as long as they all have heterosexual marriages and children and stay in the closet, just like Lincoln, we can accept them!

The Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie had more historical accuracy than this.
