President Joe Biden signed an executive order instructing national authorities to meddle in primaries using taxpayer dollars just weeks after taking business. However, America First Policy Institute ( AFPI ) filed a new lawsuit on Friday, alleging that the order violates the Administrative Procedure Act ( APA ).
In March 2021, Biden signed Executive Order 14019, which mandates that federal authorities create strategies to “promote voting membership and participation.” The National Voter Registration Act, which has never been interpreted as allowing for action, is the only legal jurisdiction it cites, according to AFPI. On behalf of AFPI, Texas ‘ Democratic representatives Ronny Jackson and Beth Van Duyne, as well as Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, was filed in America First Policy Institute v. Biden.
The plaintiffs ask for a tentative and everlasting order to prevent the Biden presidency from carrying out the order.
” This]Executive Order ] is a blatant and unlawful effort to use taxpayer money to help elect Democratic candidates, including President Joe Biden”, the suit alleges. ” For example, approach the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program about a give — getting pushed to register to vote. Getting pushed to register to vote by the Small Business Administration regarding a mortgage. Contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services about Head Start; ask to be pushed to enroll to cast a ballot. And as noted below, all of these efforts are unduly targeted toward those who are likely to cast a registered vote Democrat.
The Department of State and the U.S. Small Business Administration signed a memorandum of understanding to encourage political commitment and voting membership in Michigan, which is crucial to both Biden and former President Donald Trump’s election campaign. During a House Committee on Small Business reading, Rep. Pete Stauber, R-Minn., noted that about 91 percent of Michiganders are registered to vote. If the professional attempt is intended to increase voter enrollment in a democratic way, why did Stauber wonder if the SBA focused on Michigan rather than says with lower enrollment numbers?
Pennsylvanian lawmakers have even objected to Biden’s purchase, contending that it is infringes on the right of legislators to determine the location, manner, and location of an election. After the order has already done what Biden intended it to do for the 2024 election, the Supreme Court reportedly wo n’t decide whether to take the case until Sept. 30.
Congress has no authorized or funded any of this, according to AFPI Chair of the Center for Election Integrity, so we are asking for a court order to stop it by just enforcing federal law.
