The New York Times and The Washington Post have often tried to cover up their severe communist bias by employing conservative columnists. They’re no actual liberals, of course — none of them may be caught dead getting their hands dirty with local hoi polloi. These people have benefited from having a lot of rich Coastal Media BubbleTM Republicans and having benefited from having good connections with those I like to refer to as the” Harumph” Republicans. They shop at waistcoat stores with David Brooks, have enormous oil paintings of Nelson Rockefeller in their galleries, and quietly collect Bill Kristol bobblehead figurines.  ,

The Times and WaPo believe they are providing sufficient balance as long as Wikipedia can add the word” conservative.”  ,
Bret Stephens at The New York Times is one such” conservative”. Born in New York City, boarding class in Massachusetts, master’s degree from the London School of Economics— believe me, this guy’s never been to Waffle House. That does n’t stop him from genuinely believing that he is knowledgeable about what matters most to Republicans living in the troubled hinterlands.  ,
Over the weekend, the Times published an Op-Ed by Stephens titled,” Republicans Will Regret a Second Trump Term” . ,
Certain, Sparky.  ,
The Times article about Republicans ‘ concerns troll is the closest I will always come to using psychedelic drugs once more, so I read it right away if I read it.  ,
The New York Times:  ,
In short, Republicans have good reason to think they’ll be back in the White House following January. The sorrow may just come to an end in that way.
Three in particular: First, Trump wo n’t slay the left, instead, he will re-energize and radicalize it. Next, Trump will be a down-ballot fool, leading to divided and crippled state. Third, Trump’s second-term personnel wo n’t be like the ones in his first. Otherwise, he will nominate his Trumpiest people and follow his Trumpiest impulses. The results wo n’t be ones old-school Republicans want or expect.
There is a veritable cornucopia of concussed speculating it.  ,

The view inside the Bubbles comes into play in that first phrase about a Trump victory that re-energizes and radicalizes the Left. Stephens contends that it’s Trump’s problem that the maniac Left went mad during the George Floyd Summer of Generally Quiet Rioting, Looting, and Death.  ,
It gets more stupid. He says that” With the ugly exception of the campus anti-Israel protests, the Biden years have been mostly free of this” . ,
The head was largely free of gun damage, with the dirty exception of the return wound at the back of the bones.
I’m starting to wonder if Stephens has actually gone inside. Yet so absurd is it to think that the American Left has behaved fairly well during the Trump era. Last month, there was a riot in Los Angeles as a result of the country’s ongoing anti-Semitic protests and riots. That’s not an exemption that can be overlooked, it’s a tumor that Biden and his people have helped to metastasize.  ,
Someone in the Bubble should tell Stephens that we’re currently it if Trump wins the election that” will lead to a divided and crippled government.”  ,
His next point about the” Trumpiest people” is just so much mad communist diaper-filling.  ,
Stephens’s paragraph was published on Saturday, the day before the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. That makes it more prophetic. Since then, we’ve seen the unhinged liberals in media run with the” All is Trump’s problem anyway”, a**-covering. Just a few days before the frantic attempt to assign blame poorly, Brett Stephens was there.  ,
