The Secret Service director claimed that because the Pennsylvania roof was” slanted,” the security company did not stop guns on top of it. A gunman shot past president Donald Trump last weekend.

Trump was shot in the head by Secf=”https://thefederalist.com/2024/07/16/secret-service-director-who-allowed-assassination-attempt-on-trump-says-she-wont-resign/”>ret Service commander Kimberly Cheatle, who claimed forgoing guns on the top because they saw it as a safety hazard days befof=”https://thefederalist.com/2024/07/16/secret-service-director-who-allowed-assassination-attempt-on-trump-says-she-wont-resign/”>re the incident.

” A tilted roof is present at its highest level in that particular building.” And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we would n’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof”, she said. ” And but, you know, the decision was made to secure the tower, from inside”.

The building’s dome, which the shooter shot from, had three counter-snipers positioned underneath it, injuring three people, including Trump, and one rallygoer. Moments before the would-be killer started firing into the crowd, the show’s protection” control center” was also informed of the shooter.

According to Cheatle,” The gunman was really identified as a possible man of suspicion.” ” However, with the quick succession of how things unfolded, by the time that person was later located, they were on the top and were able to fire off at the original president”.

Cheatle continued to resist calls to resign from her position as head of the national security company, as she once said to the network,” The buck stops with me.”

After the unsuccessful death effort of the GOP political candidate last weekend, Democratic Colorado representative Lauren Boebert introduced legislation to remove the Secret Service director’s income and expenditure refunds.

A source&nbsp, told&nbsp, The Federalist on Saturday that Trump’s safety aspect had requested more security and tools, but the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security denied it “time and once”.

Local law enforcement, whom the federal agency coerces for political events like the march in Butler, Pennsylvania, where former president Trump lost portion of his right ear, has continued to be held responsible for the killing. However, the Secret Service is ultimately in charge of the entire security strategy, and according to the Washington Post, it is also in charge of reducing the risk of a long-range sniper and blocking of view, including by directing local police to vigorously shield or stand guard against potential attackers.

” The Service is responsible for everyone, not just the internal perimeter”, one past Secret Service agent told CNN. ” They should make sure all of this is covered”.

Trump made his first public appearance since the Republican National Convention ( RNC ) attempted assassination attempt on Monday night. The former president snuck into the Milwaukee area to listen to the song” God Bless the U.S. A.” as delegates welcomed the original commander-in-chief to the agreement for a second White House election.
