The company’s decision to not have a Secret Service agent on the inventory dome that would-be killer Thomas Matthew Crooks went up on in a shootgun at former president Donald Trump was uncovered by U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.
According to The Daily Mail, Cheatle is now under pressure to step down as a result of the Secret Service’s significant security breach, which allowed a gunman to take an attack on a former US president. In an interview with ABC News, Cheatle explained that the tower, which was located about 147 miles away from the stage at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was considered a difficult place for an adviser to be deployed.
Cheatle explained why the agency did n’t have an agent positioned on the roof by explaining that,” That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point.” And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we would n’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof”.
” And but, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside”, Cheatle added.
According to The Daily Mail, Crooks was able to walk the outside of the inventory building and seize the ceiling as law enforcement guarded him while Trump supporters issued warnings about his movements as a result of the Secret Service’s failing to secure the roof.

Cheatle claimed that the Secret Service was unable to find Crooks prior to the intended death.
According to Cheatle,” The gunman was really identified as a potential man of suspicion.” ” However, with the quick succession of how things unfolded, by the time that person was later located, they were on the top and were able to fire off at the original chairman”.
Cheatle continued,” the entire process of identifying the suspect and neutralizing him was very short time, even though she did not have all the information already.”
” Seeking that man out, finding them, identifying them, and finally neutralizing them took place in a very short period of time, and it makes it very difficult”, she said.
The Secret Service director also stated that, despite the massive security breach, she did not move down from her place. Cheatle did, nevertheless, claim some amount of guilt on behalf of the Secret Service for the event.
” The buck stops with me”, she , said.  ,” It was unethical. And it’s something that should n’t happen again”.
