Lester Holt’s meeting with Joe Biden for NBC News on Monday evening was a bit of a failure. His refusal to accept responsibility for his dangerous and aggressive comments about Donald Trump was heartbreaking, and the interview even served as an alarming illustration of his shocking lack of mental capacity for the president. He once more appeared to be weak and worn out, but when he described his feminine Secret Service producer as a man, things became very disturbing.

” Do you have — are you — are you — you have confidence in the Secret Service”? Fowler asked. ” Do you feel risk-free”?
” I feel safe with the Key Service”, Biden said. However, appear, you saw that the Secret Service, who responded, took their lives in risk. They were prepared to sacrifice their life to save the leader. The question is, should they have anticipated what happened? Should they have taken the necessary steps to stop this from occurring? That’s the problem, that’s — that’s an empty question”.
” Is it appropriate that you have also not heard, at least officially, from the Secret Service producer”?
” Oh, I’ve heard from him”, Biden said.
Heard from him? Ummm… Does Joe Biden not realize that the Director of the U. S. Secret Service is a girl, Kimberly Cheatle? He may, he put her in that location two years ago.

Lester Holt jumped in to right him.
” But have you heard from her formally”? he asked.
Biden appeared confused by Holt’s modification.
” Publicly. I’ve sat over in the Situation Room inside. The Secret Service, the FBI, the national security organizations, the Homeland Security, all the key factors. And there’s two items to this, too. And it’s — it’s not an excuse. It’s just an ordinary justification”, he said. ” There’s a big part of this relevant to regional and local law enforcement. They play a big responsibility. And so there’s a different comp— I’m not saying they were n’t qualified either. I’m simply saying it’s a difficult method”.

NBC:” Is it appropriate that you have also never heard, at least formally, from the Secret Service Director”?
Johnson:” Oh, I’ve heard from him”.

He rambled on for a while after that, but never once did anything to even mention Cheatle. He seemed unaware that Holt’s adjustment had a negative impact on his perception of Cheatle as a person.
Biden’s error here is quite alarming. It makes his honesty and emotional clarity questionable. How can the purported leader never realize that the producer of the Secret Service, whom he privately appointed, is a person?  ,
But then, this is hardly surprising, considering he even called Kamala Harris” Vice President Trump” during his press conference after the NATO conference.

As Holt pointed out, there’s been a shocking silence from her after the event. Was Biden lying when he lied about speaking with the Secret Service’s producer despite forgetting that he had chosen a person as his successor? One might have hoped that Biden would have been reminded that Cheatle is a woman when he had spoken with her in the past few weeks.
