The Los Angeles County medical examiner has listed Richard Simmons ‘ death as “deferred” pending investigation following his passing on Saturday.

The medical examiner’s database confirms that Simmons ( born Milton Teagle Simmons ) was found in his Los Angeles home. Additionally, it states that the event is being investigated and that his body is “ready for launch.”

There was no evidence of foul play at Simmons ‘ residence, according to sources who spoke to The Times on Saturday. The self-declared “weight savior” and TV personality passed away the day after his day. He was 76.

” I do n’t want people to be sad about my brother. I want them to recall him for the real joy and love he brought to women’s life”, Simmons ‘ brother, Lenny Simmons, wrote in a Facebook&nbsp, post&nbsp, Sunday. ” He really cared about people. He called, wrote, and contacted thousands of people throughout his job to present support”.

Lenny continued:” Do n’t be sad. Observe his living”!

Simmons was well-known for his bright coloured exercise garb and the energizing exercise-video dynasty that made him a frequent occurrence in popular culture in the late 1970s and 1980s. He was also known for appearances in TV and film projects including” CHiPs”,” General Hospital” and” What Women Want”.

” I do consider myself a villain and a jury joker, and I do love to make people laugh, whether they’re laughing with me or at me”, he told&nbsp, Men’s Health&nbsp, in 2012. ” I simply love what I do, and I’m a professor more than anything”.

Simmons retreated from the public attention in 2014 after undergoing knee surgery but resurfaced years afterwards to refuse rumors about his wellness— including that he was trans and undergoing&nbsp, gender-affirming surgery&nbsp, to survive as a person.

In 2022, a Fox documentary&nbsp, reignited speculation&nbsp, about his whereabouts, prompting Simmons to bless his followers for their “kindness and love” in a pleasant Facebook post.

Earlier this year, Simmons revealed he had been&nbsp, diagnosed with skin cancer&nbsp, — especially basal cell carcinoma — and received remedy to remove the cancerous cells. He offered his followers the health update time after raising problems with a cryptic&nbsp, Facebook&nbsp, article about death. ” I am not dying”, he clarified in a distinct speech in March.

He wrote,” It was a message that we should embrace every day that we have.” ” Sad for this dilemma. Love, Richard”.

Tom Estey, who represented Simmons for more than 30 times, confirmed to The Times that there will be a common “celebration of career” for the health character, though programs are not yet set in stone.
