After the country’s fatal protests that left at least seven people dead and more than 500 others injured in the past two days, mobile internet in Bangladesh was briefly suspended on Thursday.
The protestors set up a global campaign, stating that “only hospitals and emergency services may keep operational.”
Sheikh Hasina, the country’s prime minister, addressed the country on Wednesday and assured righteousness for the protesters. The Supreme Court’s decision, according to her, “would not detract from the students who are demanding limit reformation.”
    Why are kids protesting?
Kids in Bangladesh are protesting the government’s restrictions for government jobs and the country’s rising poverty levels.
With a community of 170 million, there are roughly 32 million young people in Bangladesh without employment or training. The kids have demanded that the 30 % ticket quota for the people of freedom fighters be eliminated.
    What PM SheikhHasina said?
The prime minister announced judicial inquiry to ensure a fair and simply trial in new, unintended events, including deaths.
” On whose provocation the fight started, who for what intent pushed the nation to an authoritarian situation, did been investigated and found out,” she said.
However, it is regrettable that some groups abused the motion to achieve their abominable goals through criminal activities, she continued.
In response to rising hostilities, American citizens are urged to remain inside.
American higher commission issued an advisory to Indian nationals living in the country to stay indoors as tensions rise in the south-Asian nation. Additionally, incident contact information was provided.
The American society people and the American students residing in Bangladesh are advised to avoid traveling and limit their activity outside their living areas in light of the current situation there. Please contact the High Commission and our Assistant High Commissions at the following 24-hour disaster numbers in case of necessity or need of assistance, it said in a statement.
