
A Pennsylvania mayor’s resignation is being called for in a public plea after making comments that appeared to support violence against former president Donald Trump immediately after the assassination attempt on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania.
According to The New York Post, Bernville Mayor Shawn Raup-Konsavage , posted” Test harder” and “#PennsylvaniaProud” with a joyful history on Twitter after the attempted assassination of Trump at Saturday’s plan march that resulted in the senator and two additional victims being injured and the death of a retired fire chief.
Penn Live Patriot-News reported that Raup-Konsavage is a Democrat. Additionally, according to The New York Post, he originally supported Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign.
The Pennsylvania president faced off against the governor of Pennsylvania on his social media post, according to The New York Post, and Raup-Konsavage responded with a defiant statement, going back to his original post.
” I did n’t take it down … and I have zero intentions of resigning”, Raup-Konsavage wrote. ” Better yet, there is n’t even a way for you to have me removed from office”.
In a blog on X, previously Online, Libs of TikTok posted images of the Pennsylvania governor and his social media comments.
In light of Raup-Konsavage’s provocative social media post in the midst of the assassination attempt against the previous president, an online , petition , was started to demand the president move down from his position. As of Thursday evening, the complaint had gathered over 4, 000 names.
” We believe in a healthy and courteous social habitat, where the words of every member in Bernville, Pennsylvania is heard, valued, and respected”, the complaint states. The horrible views and behaviors of the current Mayor, Shawn A. Raup-Konsavage, are now threatening this peaceful ecosystem.

The petition asserts that the president’s statements were “absolutely unacceptable,” that his declaration was an “implicit motivation for political murder,” and that his new conduct “is evidently not representative of the views of the community.”
Raup-Konsavage has previously made controversial statements on social advertising, including the mayor’s new article about Trump. After the demise of George Floyd in May of 2020, Raup-Konsavage tweeted a speech identifying himself as an “openly queer man” and , celebrating the “less than quiet” protests of 1969.
