
Following the tragic death of an American student last year after being hit by a police car, a US police officer was fired from his position after laughing and making insulting remarks. When she was struck by the police car on January 23rd, the 23-year-old Jahnavi Kandula ( 23 ), who was from Andhra Pradesh, was crossing the road at a marked crossing.
She was pursuing her mentor from Northeastern University’s Seattle school.
While dismissing official Daniel Auderer from the Seattle police department, time main Sue Rahr said his” cruel remarks and cruel laugh” had caused deep pain to Kandula’s home. This, she said, had damaged the public’s faith in authorities.
The police car hit Jahnavi while traveling at more than 119 kilometres to a drug overdose situation the day of the injury. The official tasked with evaluating the affair was called by the assistant, and the comments were made while the officer was on a contact with another established. In the bodycam images, Auderer had remarked:” Yeah, only publish a payment. Just, yeah ( laughter ),$ 11, 000. She was 26, anyhow. She had limited price”. He therefore “laughed difficult for four hours”, a disciplinary report said.
