Just a few days after the assassination attempt against previous president Donald Trump, tone-deaf liberals are up in support of removing their political foes.  ,
After a would-be assassin shot Trump, wounded two attendees, and killed another in Butler, Penn., on July 13, left-wing media were quick to label it an “incident“, with some initially describing the shooting as “popping noises” . ,
Leftists quickly refrained from criticizing political violence when the truth was unmistakable, going back on eight decades of rhetoric that compared Trump to Adolf Hitler and his administration to communism Germany in the 1930s. The New Republic’s June book was yet called” American Fascism”, featuring an instance of Trump as Hitler.
Liberals ‘ worry about “political assault” did not last long. Left return to their old ways of trying to connect Trump to fascism less than a week after the attempted life of Trump.
Fearmongering
Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N. M., called on President Joe Biden to retreat from the 2024 poll because Trump poses an “existential risk” – evidently unlike an assassination attempt on a former president.
According to Fox News, Heinrich stated now that Donald Trump’s election in the White House “poses an existential threat to our democracy.” ” We had beat him in November, and we need a member who can do that”.
The Federalist’s Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway responded to the post on X, calling the speech “incendiary”.
Hemingway wrote,” It continues to be horrifying to see this kind of cruel and burning speech from Democrats time after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.” ” Wise persons should advise them to stop using eliminareist language against their political competitors.”
But Heinrich was n’t the only one who felt the need to employ “eliminationist rhetoric” to attack Trump.
After the test on Trump’s career, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted on X that” there is no area for political murder” and that she wished Trump a” fast treatment”. Therefore, in her very second post, she compared a second Trump presidency to “fascism,” instructing Democratic leaders to avoid or step down.
” If you’re a” top Democrat” who feels this way, you may completely withdraw and make room for real leadership that refuses to withdraw themselves to fascism,” Cortez said.  ,
Dean Obeidallah, a host of SiriusXM, uploaded a video to X that features Republican National Convention attendees yelling” Fight, fight, fight.”
Obeidallah wrote,” Bone chilling to see at #RNCConvention people chanting “fight” in harmony with one arm beating in the air.” ” Quickly conjures up demonstrations from 1930s Germany”.
Trump yelled “fight” after being shot in the neck, and the chorus made reference to that chant.
The Lincoln Project, a left-wing group that claims to be Republican, has compared Trump to Hitler many days since the assassination attempt.
The party stated on X that “political crime has no position in American life” the night of the attempted assassination.
However, The Lincoln Project released a video just four days later that compared images of Trump to those of Hitler.
” Hitler’s power was n’t taken, it was given. And once he had power he enacted his horrible, authoritarian agenda”, the team posted July 17. ” Trump and the same active are at perform.”
The Lincoln Project called Trump a “living threat to the 10 Precepts” on July 18.  ,
The team posted a video from the RNC the day before, which contained the exact chorus that appears to have terrified Obeidallah.
” You do n’t have to go back to Germany 100 years ago”, The Lincoln Project posted. ” Only tune into the 2024 RNC”.
Implications
This condition leaves the remaining in a problem.
They never truly believed Trump to be a superior to Hitler, since no one would reject trying to assassinate him, despite their denunciation of the assassination attempt and of “political crime.” On the other hand, their condemnation of crime seems dull if they really do think Trump to be a fresh Hitler and an existential threat to America.
Neither prospect is encouraging. However, less than a week after the shooting, liberals ‘ similarities to Hitler and fascism are instructive.
