The government is being urged by Florida police to stop taking selfies with black bears that have been photographed along Highway 98 in Santa Rosa Beach. The big male keep, described as “depressed”, has shown signs of severe pressure due to the notice from passing cars. Authorities warned against approaching or feeding exotic animals because there were involvement from animals soldiers.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office’s social media posts quickly drew a large crowd of onlookers who were attempting to take photographs with the black keep.
” Onlookers were attempting to take photographs with the bear, and it’s obvious he’s not in the mood for images.” The keep has shown signs of severe stress”, the post said.
Calling it’ popular next words’, the coroner’s office cautioned against following the tagline of” If no friend, why friend shaped”?
The article further cautioned the public against approaching black bears, especially those that are displaying signs of aggression and called the keep” stressed sad lemon zest.”
Following a call from the sheriff’s office that there had been crowds of people stopping to photograph the bear, officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission ( FWC ) were dispatched to look into the situation. The bear was spotted posing next to a telegraph pole.
By the time officials and researchers arrived,” the grizzly had dispersed and walked off into the opposite trees”, said an FWC director, in a speech quoted by the Guardian.
The spokesperson added that, based on pictures shared with workers,” The bear did not appear to become injured. It might have just been heated and rested before moving on.
Black bears are a common sight in many areas of Florida, especially in the spring and summer when young animals migrate from their mother ‘ homes to new locations. The director indicated that, generally, bears will walk on their own without interference.
” Generally, animals may move down on their own. If you see a bear, give it space, do n’t try to approach it, and never feed it”, the spokesperson advised.
Additionally, he directed the people to the site bearwise for advice. and advised to “always give animals as little space as possible.” ” Crowding around any bear is not recommended, as animals can get defensive when threatened”, he said.
In responses to the social media post, several people shared sympathy with the keep. ” If I were a endure, I’d get stressed with traffic like this”, one X user commented. Another person urged people to stay away from the danger and said,” Leave the bear alone! Or get a Darwin Award Winner”!
According to the FWC, there are an estimated 4, 050 black animals living in the wild in Florida.
