Pakistan called for the arrest of those responsible for the attack on its Frankfurt embassy on Sunday and condemned what it described as a “gang of fanatics.”
A big crowd of angry people were seen removing the Afghan flag from the Muslim embassy in Frankfurt as a result of footage shared on social media. The people allegedly abused Afghan nationals who reportedly pelted the embassy with stones during their protest, according to Pakistani officials.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, said in a statement that” the country strongly condemns the attack by a group of radicals on its embassy in Frankfurt, Germany and the loss of German regulators to safeguard the sanctity and protection of the premises of its diplomatic Mission.
We also call on European officials to immediately detain and prosecute those responsible for security breaches, according to the director.
This is not the first time Afghan citizens have shown animosity toward Pakistan at a respectable location. In 2019, conflicts between Pakistan’s and Afghanistan’s victories at the Asia Cup in Sharjah ruined the two nations ‘ victories.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have a growing anxiety. After a fragile truce between Islamabad and the proscribed militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan ( TTP), which had been in place since November 2022, Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist attacks. Afghanistan is held responsible for providing shelter to TTP extremists in Pakistan. Kabul, yet, denies the claims.
After Pakistan launched a deportation drive to eliminate Afghan nationals last year, the two nations ‘ ties also suffered.
