Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle informed politicians that her organization does not have any stereo audio from the day of the earlier this month’s attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
On Monday, Cheatle was asked about the safety company’s records-keeping methods by Rep. Russell Fry, R-S. C.
” Does the Secret Service regularly record conversations between and among themselves”? Fry said.
” Television contacts”? Cheatle clarified.
” Any communication”, Fry said.
” Email contacts are both analyzed as well as text information. And therefore depending on the information, television connections are recorded”, Cheatle said.
Does the Secret Service have records of contacts relating to the July 13 incident? Fry asked.
” We do not have television communications from that day,” Cheatle continued.
Members of both parties demanded on Monday that the Secret Service producer step down following the assassination attempt of the Democratic presidential nominee. Members of both parties also pleaded with the chairman.
” I just do n’t think this is partisan”, said Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif.” If you have an assassination attempt on the president, a former president, or a candidate, you need to resign”.
Khanna and Cheatle both agreed that the new Trump capturing was” the most significant security lapse since President Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981.”
” Well, do you know what Stuart Knight did — he was in command, at the time, of the Secret Service — do you know what he did”? Khanna asked.
” He remained on duty”, Cheatle said with assurance. The Californian representative corrected her.
” He resigned. He resigned”, Khanna said. ” And Stuart Knight was not a Democratic appointee … I’m not questioning your judgment, I just do n’t think this is partisan. You must resign if you attempt to kill a senator, a former leader, or a participant.
When Cheatle may n’t explain why her company did not secure the top from which the gunman was able to directly shot Trump and kill another rallygoer, the reading room sounded an audible sigh. More of the crowd’s members suffered injuries.
Can you explain why the Secret Service did n’t put a single agent on the roof? Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky., asked.
” We are also looking into the advance method”, Cheatle said.
The Secret Service director reported to ABC News last week that because the ceiling was” sloped,” security officers could not enter it. Before the fatal shooting spree, the gunman allegedly hid the weapon, according to Fox News. Three counter-snipers were stationed , inside , the tower, but none were on the top. A resource also , told , The Federalist that Trump’s crew had constantly pled with federal authorities to beef up security but were rebuffed “time and once”.

The 20-year-old shooter flew a helicopter at the march grounds hours before Trump’s speech, according to The Wall Street Journal on Friday.
According to the paper, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was briefed, “flew the helicopter on a designed flight way earlier in the day on July 13 to the Butler Farm Show basis.” According to the officials,” The preset path suggests Crooks flew the helicopter more than once as he looked into and visited the event web-site.”
