The Pentagon’s “economic pain bonuses” for U. S. military forces are expected to be distributed starting this quarter. However, a new report claims that the average bonus for U. S. troops will only be$ 20 per month.
The Pentagon has indicated that it is prepared to deliver the “economic pain bonuses” that Congress authorized to support U.S. service users navigate inflated prices and higher living costs, but they are unlikely to have a major impact, according to Military .com.
A secret senior defense official informed Military .com on Friday that the average monthly bonus for U.S. troops in junior ranks E-1 to E-3 will be$ 20 per month, starting this month and continuing through December.
The anonymous official told Military .com,” The monthly bonus amounts, on average, will total approximately$ 120]over the six months ] … and they’re based on the funding Congress has made available”.
According to Military .com, Congress did not provide the money until the end of March, despite the fact that U.S. politicians first authorized the army prizes in December under the National Defense Authorization Act.

The Pentagon eventually decided to just award bonuses to soldiers in ranks E-1 to E-3, according to the anonymous defense established. At the end of each quarter, almost 266, 000 soldiers are expected to receive the bonuses.
The standard continued,” We chose the paygrades based on the amount of money that Congress appropriated, what we could give, and what would suit within that arrangement.”
In response to the Pentagon’s plan to distribute the bonuses to U. S. troops, Justine Tripathi, a House Armed Services Committee spokesperson, told Military .com,” While it’s welcome news that the department will provide some junior enlisted service members with temporary bonus pay, as authorized by]last year’s ] NDAA, more must be done”.
The House Armed Services Committee spokesperson emphasized that the need to do more for U. S. troops is “why the]upcoming ] NDAA provides junior enlisted service members with a 19.5 %  , pay raise”.
The House of Representatives approved legislation in June that would increase the pay for junior enlisted soldiers by 5 % and increase the pay for all U.S. troops by 15 %, according to a press release.
