When a group of men approached Fernando Arroyos and his partner, they were scouting properties in Florence-Firestone.

Luis De La Rosa Rios, Jesse Contreras, and Ernesto Cisneros were searching for a robber. They spotted the string around the chest of Arroyos, an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department official.

Torres came to a halt for his vehicle. He and Cisneros fled with firearms. A fight broke out as the pair was being forced to give their jewellery and money. Cisneros and Torres started shooting. The 27-year-old official, who graduated from the University of California, Berkeley before returning to visit his home state’s police pressure, died of a single bullet wound.

Cisneros, Rios and Contreras were sentenced Friday to longer term in federal prison — 50 years for Cisneros, 50 for Rios and 35 for Contreras — after pleading guilty last year to criminal. They made the admission in their pleas that they had killed Arroyos as part of their group, Florencia 13, a criminal spree.

A third defendant, Hayley Grisham, pleaded guilty to committing a violent murder in support of criminal but has yet to be sentenced.

Angela Mendoza, Arroyos ‘ girl, said in court that witnessing his dying was” the worst day of my living”. She criticized the accused as “degenerates who took my sweet apart from us,” describing Arroyos as quiet and sincere but outgoing and interesting once you got to know him.

U.S. District Court Judge Percy Anderson described Arroyos as” a young gentleman who had the ability to improve the quality of life for all of us” before deciding the three’s imprisonment. According to Anderson, the punishment for killing him was intended to demonstrate that “you must pay a steep cost if you choose to harm our society by killing, robbing, and smuggling in medicines.”

Rio declined to address the prosecutor. It was never our purpose for the officer to die, said Contreras, who apologized to Arroyos ‘ home.

Cisneros, whose prosecutor described him as cognitively impaired, said,” I just want to say I’m sorry to the murderer’s home, and I’m guilty to my home for putting them through so much discomfort, that’s it”.

The court was packed with law enforcement officers and best officials, including LAPD Chief Dominic Choi, U. S. Attorney Martin Estrada, L. A. County Sheriff Robert Luna and his father, Alex Villanueva.

Founded in the 1950s, Florencia 13 has grown into one of the largest and most famous criminals in Los Angeles, with more than two hundred groups, or sets, across South Los Angeles, Huntington Park, South Gate and Maywood.

In a number of national criminal indictments, law enforcement officials claim Florencia 13 targeted because it has close ties to the Mexican Mafia and allegedly extorts operators of playing parlors and dispensaries on the group’s place.

Contreras and Rios stated in their requests that Arroyos was the next man they robbed on January 10, 2022, in their opening statements.

Earlier, they’d confronted two players leaving the El Norteno table on Compton Avenue, demanding income while pointing weapons at their faces, according to their appeal contracts. They admitted to making off with about$ 2,000.

Contreras and Rios finally picked up Cisneros and Rios ‘ girl, Grisham. Driving in Rios ‘ truck, they saw Arroyos and his partner on 87th Street.

” He has a great chain”, Grisham recalled Rios saying. ” Let’s get it”.
