Democrats have now turned their focus back on defeating their Republican challenger, Donald Trump, after effectively eliminating President Joe Biden as the candidate via a text coup. And now that Biden has been eliminated from the competition, the media and their left-wing supporters have come to the same conclusion.
Commercial media were now fraudulently spreading the false impression that Trump’s era was just as concerning, if not more, than Biden’s. Only a few weeks ago, The Washington Post ran a bit on Trump’s day headlined” Donald Trump, possible future oldest leader, turns 78″. Given that, if Trump earn a second term, he may be 82 when he would step down, which is the year Biden will turn in, it was difficult to sell.
However, the internet started repurchasing the talking point at full speed after Biden abruptly pulled out of the competition.
” Trump is now the oldest candidate that we’ve ever seen in U. S. national history”, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins said.
Bakari Sellers, the oldest leader in the history of the United States, announced on CNN that Kamala Harris is up against her. ” I mean, the guy is almost 80 years old, and so the problem is, does he offer another four times? I’m not convinced he can”.
Additionally, Sellers furthermore stated on X that Trump is the “oldest candidate in American political history,” which left-wing activist Elie Mystal later reposted.
Forbes blared that” Biden’s leave makes Trump the oldest candidate in U. S. story”.
Left-wing media are now making an evident play by making a false comparison to Trump and his time in light of their lack of responsibility to protect for Biden’s cognitive decline.
But it’s deceptive to shape Biden’s difficulty as just one of “age”. Instead, Americans have seen evidence of a severe and good medical decline in the president’s mental function, evidenced by the president’s repeated physical and verbal fumbles, his open displays of confusion, and the White House’s unwillingness to let him appear officially without significant guardrails. Although Biniden’s age has undoubtedly been a factor, his cognitive decline is ultimately what horrifies American voters.
Before Biden and Trump, Ronald Reagan faced growing opposition from Democrats of his generation. Then-Rep. Tony Coelho, who also served as a surrogate for Walter Mondale, told reporters that” Reagan showed his age” and that” the age issue is in the campaign now”.
Reagan was asked if he had any doubts about whether he would be able to “function” in a crisis during the second presidential debate, which stoked any concerns about his age. Reagan assured the rest of the country that he could handle the position before turning his attention to the age issue.
” I am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent’s youth and inexperience”, he said.
It was a well-received line, and Reagan won the electoral college.
On the other hand, presidents who are much younger have been affected by crippling medical conditions. Woodrow Wilson was largely incapacitated for the remainder of his presidency when he had a stroke in 1919 at the age of 62. His wife, Edith, acted as the puppet master behind the scenes, hiding Wilson’s condition for two years.
Age alone has never been the main problem. It’s the mental clarity and cognitive ability that matter. Trump is campaigning all over the country and just gave a 90-minute address at the Republican National Convention after surviving an assassination attempt. He does not act in the same way as Biden, who has been missing for days.
If the media really cared about a president’s age and cognition, they would demand that the oldest president ever step down from office right away. His serious mental decline had become too difficult to hide.
