NEW DELHI: An Israeli operation in Khan Yunis, southeastern Gaza, killed 70 people and wounded over 200 on Monday, according to the Gaza health department. The assault followed Israel’s caution that it would “forcefully work” in the area to suppress rocket fire. Following a momentary evacuation order, including the Al-Mawasi charitable area, hundreds of Palestinians eluded southern places.
The Israeli government claimed that it targeted more than” 30 terrorist system” sites in Khan Yunis, indicating that its objective was to attack Hamas militants. The attacks included a arms storage service, study posts, hole shafts, and other constructions used by Hamas militants.
Lately, 92 people died in a hit on Al-Mawasi, which Israel claimed was targeting a Hamas captain. At least 12 people were killed, according to legal protection organizations in Gaza City, and four people died in the Jabalia immigrant camp.
Israeli military operations in Gaza have killed more than 39, 000 people, mostly residents, according to the health department in Gaza. The battle was ignited by Hamas’s October 7 strikes, killing 1, 197 people, mostly citizens, in southern Israel. The insurgents also seized 251 victims, of which 116 remain in Gaza, with 44 presumed useless.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, facing strain for a ceasefire and hostage-release package, arrived in Washington on Monday to tackle the US Congress. Joe Biden, the president of the United States, has been urging him to agree to a peace, and Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with him.
Kamala Harris, the vice president of the US, and Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, will join Netanyahu at the White House this year during his US attend.
Netanyahu is being subjected to pressure from anti-government demonstrations and hostage-related communities in Israel.
In the broader local context, Israel faced problems over the weekend, including a satellite attack on Tel Aviv by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, leading Israel to strike Yemen for the first time. Also, Hezbollah and the Jewish military engaged in frequent firefights along the border.
