
An oil tanker, MT Terra Nova, carrying 1.4 million litres ( 1, 494 metric tonnes ) of industrial fuel capsized on Thursday near the Philippines ‘ coast. Jaime Bautista, the transport secretary, acknowledged that an oil spill had occurred as a result of the incident.

16 out of the 17 team members on committee have been properly rescued, while one remains missing. A research is currently being conducted to find the staff member who is missing.
In a separate speech, Coast Guard spokesman Armando Balilo mentioned the start of an investigation into Typhoon Gaemi’s sea incident.
The coast guard claimed that the maritime incident did n’t cause any weather disturbance in the nearby waters.
