After authorities said he reportedly made numerous online content “praising” the new assassination of former president Donald Trump and other threats against his running mate, U.S. Sen. JD Vance, the Jupiter resident was detained on Friday.
Michael M. Wiseman, 68, was detained Friday by Jupiter police, and he was still incarcerated in the Palm Beach County jail as of Monday evening. He faces one count of written threats to kill or harm.
According to a possible cause affidavit, several persons complained and submitted online ideas about Wiseman’s social media posts. An official found numerous articles on Wiseman’s people Twitter and Threads accounts posted in the days after the July 13 firing at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that “praised” the killing and “were encouraging in character for others to try the same”, the affidavit said.
A former flames commander who was present at the march was shot and killed. Trump was taken off the level while he was bleeding ears.
On July 17, Wiseman reportedly stated that” some people need to be better photos if they know they are going to shoot a dragon.” The official found three messages from July 18, including one with a picture of Trump “in the sights of a detective opportunity” that said,” READY, AIM, FIRE. RINSE AND REPEAT”, the petition said. The 20-year-old sniper was honored in one common post on a Wire account linked to Wiseman.
Wiseman was well-known in the Jupiter neighborhood, according to people who gave recommendations to specialists. An officer went to Wiseman’s house and talked to him in his road. Wiseman “openly” discussed the posts with the agent and claimed, according to the oath, that he had made all the articles by himself.
Wiseman’s defense attorney declined to comment in an email Monday evening.
The State Attorney’s Office is asking that Wiseman been detained away of trial, according to court documents. A hearing on the subject was postponed for Thursday night.
