Investigations by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa ) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis. ) have reportedly exposed the U. S. Secret Service for providing 12 “post-standing” agents for First Lady Jill Biden while only providing three “post-standing” agents for former President Donald Trump, as well as multiple other security failures.
Just three “post standing” Secret Service agents were present at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former senator was shot in the neck by would-be killer Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to Susan Crabtree, a Real Clear Politics editor.
In a , statement on Grassley’s notice to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who announced her departure on Tuesday, Crabtree noted that the Secret Service’s end boundary is known as “post standing”.
In a letter to Cheatle over the weekend, Grassley wrote that” My company has received constitutionally protected journalist disclosures that include information of contacts between and among Key Service personnel.” The documents include statements from July 11, 2024 that stated First Lady Jill Biden was given 12 Secret Service staff for a “post standing” at her event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.

Grassley continued,” Those similar communications indicate that original President Trump received three Secret Service agents for’post standing’ for his function in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.”
Johnson criticized the Secret Service for numerous safety mistakes in the execution effort against Trump in addition to Grassley’s claim.
Johnson claimed that the Secret Service did not attend a safety presentation with SWAT and detective team on July 13 as the investigation by his company’s research revealed. The legislator noted that local law enforcement officers claimed regional officials had not been in regular radio contact with the Secret Service and that they had informed demand that Crooks had been “notified and received confirmation that Secret Service was aware of the warning.”
Johnson also cited state-level law enforcement officials, who claimed the Secret Service had no idea when Trump was speaking at a Pennsylvania protest.
