Your electric car ration has been increased from one future Buick model to zero, friends. Later on Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Detroit carmaker had delayed plans for both a fresh Buick EV and a new electric vehicle manufacturer. Basically, this is the next pause in opening the EV Chevy Silverado collection at the company’s Orion Assembly grow.

The Silverado EV, which was originally scheduled to begin production in 2023, wo n’t start producing until the middle of 2026. ” If next” is a good thing to ponder. The Buick plug-in cross has been delayed indefinitely.  ,
I love this piece from the WSJ report:” However, stout desire for gas-powered cars continues to fuel earnings for GM and other automakers”. If it were n’t for the money GM makes on gas and diesel vehicles, they could n’t afford to make or sell electric cars and trucks.
” U. S. energy cars continue to grow”, the Journal reported,” but the rate has eased and demand has never matched some projections. EVs made up about 8 % of new vehicles in the second quarter, up from 7.2 % a year earlier”.
GM stock dropped in response to the news, but not because investors were reluctant to put stock up for EV production. Rather, it’s because the company asserted that consumer dissatisfaction with great prices and higher costs would have an impact on profits going forward.

Since the days when earlier adopters and tech-gadget lovers were driving double-digit increases, electronic vehicle sales have decreased significantly. And as far as I’m informed, according to several news reports over the past year or so, Tesla may be the only American, Japanese, or European automaker to produce and sell significant numbers of EVs for a profit.

ASIDE: I visited Buick’s web to research this paragraph and the agency’s old branding — “understated luxury” — and been changed to “nearly identical CUVs”. Nothing about the Buick roster is anything compared to the elegance of the hatchback or car. I’m confident they’re good crossovers — comfortable, nice to travel, and fuel-efficient. But there’s little Buick in the appearance of tomorrow’s Buick.
The Communist Chinese industry is very obtuse to understand what’s happening there.  ,
Would it be impolite of me to suddenly inquire how many billions of dollars the Biden-Harris administration has allocated to a wonderful and important move to electronic vehicles?
Fortunately, the news is more than just multibillion-dollar disappointment, yet.
According to that same Wall Street Journal article,” robust demand and prices on gas-powered vehicles and SUVs” have given GM the chance to increase its earnings view by, you know, making and selling cars that users are really willing to buy.
Offer payment to GM for putting the brakes on their EV ideas before causing the company’s income to suffer a lot more. The same goes for Ford.

Profits are what keep a business going, and they ca n’t be willed into existence by government mandates, restrictions, incentives, and outright subsidies. No matter how stringent the requirements or the kind of opportunities and grants are, that is the case.
