Following his evident backpedaling on the contract, US Vice President Kamala Harris has questioned former US President Donald Trump’s devotion to a debate scheduled for September 10.
” What happened to ‘ any day, any location?'” Following President Joe Biden’s removal from the race, Harris responded to a tweet by criticizing Trump’s sudden reluctance to question her.
The conversation, initially set to be hosted by ABC News, was portion of a pre-existing partnership between Biden and Trump. But, Biden’s decision to enter the contest, coupled with the sharp integration of the Democratic Party behind Harris, has caused Trump’s team to evaluate their commitment. Trump’s contacts director, Steven Cheung, said that” continued social conflict surrounding” Biden and the Democrats means “general conversation information may be finalized until Democrats fully decide on their nominee”, according to the New York Times.
Cheung’s speech implies that Harris’s nomination might still be temporary, suggesting that the Democrat Party could possibly select another candidate.
The unwillingness of the Trump campaign stems from the idea that Harris might not be a powerful candidate to defeat Trump, Cheung claiming that “many in the Democratic Party, including Obama, believe that Harris may defeat Trump and that they are still holding out for someone who is “better.”
Harris has, in contrast, reiterated her devotion to the debate, claiming that voters deserve to see how she and Trump are performing on the stage. Harris praised her preparation for the discussion and accused Trump of “backpedaling” by saying,” I think the voters deserve to see the divide screen that exists in this competition on the conversation phase.”
Trump has suggested that a discussion hosted by Fox News, which has been somewhat sympathetic of him, might be his preferred option. Trump has not yet confirmed his involvement in Harris ‘ conversation, which suggests that the discussion format and location may need to be discussed further. ” Well, I have n’t agreed to anything”, Trump told reporters, adding that while he had agreed to debate Biden, he remains uncommitted regarding Harris.
