Vice President Antony Blinken and Chinese equivalent Wang Yi spoke for length about Taiwan on Saturday and raised fears about Beijing’s new “provocative activities,” according to a top U.S. State Department established.
According to the official, those actions included a simulated siege that occurred during Taiwan President Lai Ching-te’s commencement. Blinken and Wang also agreed to continue strengthening their countries ‘ military-to-military relationships.
” In every conversation, Taiwan is the matter that they care most about. They see it as… an internal China issue, so he ( Wang Yi ) always has a fair bit to say about Taiwan, as they always have a fair bit to say publicly”, the official said.
China’s government considers politically ruled Taiwan as unassailable Chinese province, which Taiwan rejects.

Blinken conveyed to Wang that U. S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s political candidate, both believed in the importance of balance in the U. S. China marriage, and that a rules-based buy may be upheld, the official added.

The official continued,” We’ve taken actions, and we’ll continue to take them if we do n’t see appropriate actions on your side,” according to the official.
Blinken even raised issues with Wang U.S. concerns about the protection of human rights in Tibet, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and emphasized Beijing’s need for more work to combat narcotics, including fentanyl precursors, coming from China.
Blinken “raised a number of distinct law enforcement activities, as well as more timing of predecessors that China had take,” the official said.
