British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made articles on Saturday when he was photographed getting wet in the rain at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Starmer was the only person in the picture who did n’t have a raincoat, according to the viral image.
Calling it a” American” trend, Starmer, when asked about the photo, told French network LCI,” It’s English! We are used to the rainfall”.
” But the rain did n’t dampen the spirits”, he added. He went on to describe the ceremony as a” spectacular” and “fantastic” event and said that it made” the whole use of the river ( and ) of Paris”.
There is nothing more American than completely refusing to wear one of those cheap ponchos, according to one user who responded to the image after it went viral on social media.
Another user posted a picture of past UK PM Rishi Sunak getting wet in rainfall while giving a speech, saying “everyone knows British prime ministers are defense to weather.”
The British Prime Minister also met with the Olympic team ahead of the summer activities, wishing them good fortune.
” Great to speak with @TeamGB players ahead of tonight’s entry service. On behalf of the entire country: fine luck- we are all behind you”, he said.
