According to a report from Reuters, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings apparently gave a significant$ 7 million to a super PAC in support of Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ presidential campaign.
Social media users have been voicing their disapproval of this information, and there are also growing calls for a ban of the streaming service.
According to reports, Hastings ‘$ 7 million contribution may be his most important political gift to a single candidate to date.
The Netflix professional chairman congratulated Harris on Monday, making her the Democratic nominee to confront Donald Trump in front of a majority of Democratic members. He also took to X earlier this week to words his support for Harris, saying,” Gratitude to Kamala Harris, then it is time to win”.
This comes after former US President Barack Obama’s official endorsement of Kamala Harris as the Democratic nomination for the president, giving her the backing of all of the party’s prominent supporters in her bid for the presidency.
Following Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the battle, Obama initially resisted backing a prospect and preferred an empty nominations debate at the approaching Democratic National Convention in Chicago the following month.
But, after Harris received endorsements from Bill and Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, several state administrators, top Democrats in Congress, and Biden himself, Obama added his voice to the growing help for the vice-president.
