
One individual has been killed and six others have been injured in a mass shooting at Maplewood Park in Rochester on Sunday night, according to regional government.
As per information by rochesterfirst.com, the Rochester Police Department responded to the landscape around 6: 20 am after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon introduction, officers discovered many people with gunshot wounds.
A 20-year-old man was later found dead, and six other wounded victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. As a result of household warning, the deceased’s identity has not been disclosed.
Witnesses shared video footage on social media showing disorganized scenes of people fleeing in panic amidst the noise of shots.
The tragedy prompted a major reaction from many law enforcement agencies, including the Irondequoit Police, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Police, and New York State Police. Authorities have confirmed that a group was occurring in a garden at the time of the shooting, though it is still unclear what exactly caused the crime.
Authorities are currently looking into the case, and they are working to determine the suspects and figure out the motivation for the attack.
