The saying” the Word of God” is frequently used by Catholics. We use it safely, expressing our opinion in God’s Word as key and important, and I hope that mainstream Christians often mess that up.

But how frequently do we consider the dual meaning of that word? Of program, we refer to religion as God’s Word, and we see links to that throughout the Bible.
Verse 119 is a lengthy poem that serves as an hymn to God’s Word, and poetry 105 is one of the most popular verses:” Your word is a candle to my legs and a mild to my path”.
Another Old Testament passages refer to God’s discovery as the” Word of God” to His people:
And he humbled you, made you hungry, and fed you with bread, so that he might teach you that person does not sit by bread alone, but that he lives by every phrase that comes from the Lord’s mouth. This you did not know, nor did your father know.
Deuteronomy 8: 3 ( ESV )
The lawn withers, the plant fades, but the term of our God will remain long.
Isaiah 40: 8 ( ESV )
My word may be that comes out of my tongue, not that it returns to me clear, but it will accomplish the goal for which I sent it, and it will succeed in the task for which I sent it, just as the rain and snow do not return from heaven but waters the world, making it come back and grow, giving seed to the wanderer and bread to the eater.
Isaiah 55: 10-11 ( ESV )
There are numerous sources to religion as God’s Word in the New Testament. Deuteronomy 8: 3 was cited by Jesus as the dragon was trying to tempt Him. But there’s more:
My thoughts will not go away, but heaven and earth does.
Matthew 24: 35 ( ESV )
As]Jesus ] said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him,” Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed”! However, he claimed that those who receive and keep the word of God are better fortunate!
Luke 11: 27-28 ( ESV )
For the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged weapon, piercing to the division of mind and of nature, of joints and of blood, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the soul.
Hebrews 4: 12 ( ESV )

But the word” Word of God” also refers to Jesus. That idea is most evident in the literary introduction to John’s church, which is written in the Apostle John’s name.
The Word was the Word, and the Word was God at first, and the Word was God with God. In the beginning, he had a relationship with God. Without him, there was no item made that was made, and all things were made through him. Existence was in him, and the living was men’s light. The shadow has not ceased to shine in the shadow, but the light does…
And the Word came to earth and permeated our world, and we have seen his glory, splendor as the only Brother from the Father, full of grace and wisdom.
John 1: 1-5, 14 ( ESV )
Why equate God’s Boy with gospel? Why use the word again to describe both the written word and the training to define God in the real world?
” Well, you and I reveal ourselves through our words”, explains blogger Barry Cooper. Although technically speaking, it might be possible for me to present this program without actually using words ( come to think, you might actually prefer it ), what you can infer about me is limited, especially given that you ca n’t see me. Words share our ideas, our intentions, our figure”.
In the same way that He revealed Himself through Jesus during His time on earth, both in the Old and New Testaments. Hebrews ‘ writer put it this way:
God spoke to our father by the saints several days and in many ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son, who he appointed as the heir of all items and through whom he created the world. He upholds the universe by the word of his power and is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of his nature. He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on top after performing sin purification.
Hebrews 1: 1-3 ( ESV )

Consider this: In Jesus, we are introduced to the Word of God through the Word of God in scripture. And our interaction with Jesus as God’s Word enables us to comprehend God’s written word.
What does the Word of God’s dual meaning mean to you? How can you apply both meanings to your life by gaining an appreciation of both?
