According to S Jaishankar, the foreign affairs minister, the nations need to keep in touch with both nations. The answer to the Russia-Ukraine conflict may never come from the field.
Jaishankar in Tokyo reiterated the need for speech and geopolitics as the only option for a resolution to the conflict, saying,” From the beginning, we believed that using pressure does not solve problems between nations. In the last 2-2.5 years, this issue has cost lives, economic damage, world consequences, impacted different societies, and contributed to global prices… Our placement is that we do not believe that the solution will come from the battlefield… We believe that there must be a return to dialogue and diplomacy”
In response to Turkey’s and other countries ‘ efforts to bring back the Black Sea grain deal and to promote prison exchange, Jaishankar said that India has assisted in several initiatives to end the conflict or improve living conditions for residents of Russia and Ukraine.
” We have the impression that more needs to be done, that we should not accept the continuation of the present state of conflict, and that we should let us wait until other parts of the world can offer some kind of solution that will be fatalistic and will not be given weight of the position,” he said.
” We do believe that we should be very active there because there are n’t many countries who are talking in a way with both countries, Russia and Ukraine,” he said.
Russia started its” specific military function” in Ukraine since February 2022. Even though it has been more than two decades, the conflict between the two nations is still unresolved.
